So last night the last few parts (so I thought) came in for my new system.
XFX 780I SLI
qx9750
4gb ocz reaper ddr2
2x raptor
1TB seagate
9600 GT SLI (for now)
Danger Den tower-21 case
Anyways, this is the forth water cooled computer I have ever made, but I must say it is by far the hardest, because I no longer have access to my fathers HUGE shop, now I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and have to build everything on the coffee table (can you say missing screws under the couch?) This build has been nothing but drama so far, and doesn't look like it is going to get any easier...
THINGS THAT HAVE GONE WRONG!
1. I had my case fitted with a fillerport, and some custom etching, well I was dumb enough to just say "put the fillerport in the top, use your best judgment!" and the folks at danger den did a great job of cutting the hole, it was in the way once my power supply was mounted, it fit PERFECTLY if I reversed the top panel BUT then there is nothing to mount the dvd drive and hard drive rails too. OOPS!
2. Piss poor planning: I started this project with the idea for a dual loop system in an "Ultra Aluminus" case, and quickly learned that a SINGLE loop wouldn't even fit. The case is beautiful, but very cramped for its size. I then moved on to the idea of having Dangen Den modify one of their brand new beautiful Tower-21 cases for me. This case is wonderful, but it came missing some screws, and included the wrong screws for other places, ugh!!!!
3. Rushing: I have been waiting so long to get this project started that once I think I have everything I need, I don't take my time, and this results in the last few pictures you see where I made a HUGE n00b mistake involing the plumbing of the system (look at how I have the inlet of the pump WHOOPS!)
Oh well, these picture are still just day one of the actual build, just to give you an idea of where I am going. When I get home from work today I will be draining the system and changing a bunch of things for a much better much cleaner look. ALSO keep in mind that I have three brand new evga 9800 GTX's in their boxes, just waiting for a full coverage water block from danger den. If something doesn't happen soon I will be ordering three of those EK blocks. The 9600 GT's are temporary. Also the radiator is going to be switched around to have the barbs on the top for a cleaner look.
