new material: bsod

hi,

I have just bought a new PC and after 2 or 3 days of use, when i open/close a game (so changing to another resolution) i get a BSOD.
I can get it too after few hours of game during a loading.

this can be a RAM problem? windows? graphic card? HDD?

Can you try this game with your CPU at stock speed? Maybe it's something wrong with your overclock.

sounds more like a graphics driver issue... try a different version

it sounds like a graphics driver to me too, but i've been running Cat. 8.2 for two months and it's a very good driver. i'd also start by lowering the overclock first to see if that fixes the problem. E8400's start wanting extra juice at about the 3.6 GHz area, so this could be overclock-related. i run my E8400 at 1.325 vCore for my daily 4.0 GHz speed. that's a pretty hefty overvolt.

I'm stable 18h under prime95 x2 blend/small fft's at 3.8 ghz for 1.23v.
I tryed 3.6 ghz with same settings.. no difference :(
Tryed Cata 8.1 and 7.12 too then a format C.

I found some persons who have the similar problem with the ATI HD 2xxx/3xxx.
Some person told me to try another windows.

Any suggestions?

I got the same bsod yesterday with cats 8.4 and Ati Tray Tools, sup com didn't wanna work either so i switched to CCC and seems fine for now at least

did you try cata 7.12/8.1/8.2 with CCC?
i already got this bsod with the Cata DD+CCC, at the moment i'm trying 8.4 i'll see.. Maybe the omega driver can be a solution.

i don't think Omega drivers have been current for a while. are you running any overclocking/monitoring software like RivaTuner? try a clean reboot and run some games without opening RivaTuner, ATiTool, or any other overclocking software. see if one of those is conflicting with something else.

No i never used these programs with this pc, my card is stock.
just formated, instaled Catalyst DD, Catalyst CCC, Catalyst WDM then start to play.
Playing l2 few hours in window mod then i open another game like NFS pro street or HL2 in Full screen mod.. crashing!
(desktop: 1920x1200, games: 1280x800)

But if i put 1280x800 for my desktop and for the game (in full screen mod) no problem.
