Do any 4gb sticks of DDR2 memory exist? Preferably I am looking for DDR2 1066, but I doubt that exists, so I am looking for any. I do not want ecc/buffered or anything like that.

Micron has 4gb sticks, very poor timings, and high price..you can get DDR3 for cheaper.

Where can I get 4gb DDR3 sticks cheaper than DDR2? All the DDR3 I've seen, even the lower speeds, lower capacities, seem to be much more expensive than the DDR2 variants. I would need a new motherboard.... I'd be eying the DFI x48 T3R, but this is considerably more money than I have to spend right now...

I think he meant ddr3 in general :) Not 4GB ddr3 sticks

Thanks, Kiwi, and yes, you guys mis-understand. No 4gb DDR3, but $933 for 8gb is insane. Also, you are looking at fully buffered, or ecc for 4gb sticks, so the cost is quite high.(registered is $769)

The g.skill is not buffered or ECC, but I can't find them for sale ANYWHERE.

Me either. I had looked into the same couple of weeks ago, all i could find available was the Micron stuff.

Don't buy the DDR2 1000 G.skill kit.

Powerchip ICs in them and mine have very poor performance.

what do you expect of 2GB sticks? rated at 500MHz is IMO more than enough.
also powerchips like higher tRFC values so give it a try
