Hi,
i intend changing my motherboard to DFI Lanparty DK P35-T2RS .
Will my current chipset waterblocks (NB/SB) fit on this board:confused:
If not which block should i get? I might be using the wc components
in my sig.

Just get a Swiftech MCW-30.

Nate P, do you have an idea of the retension hole for the NB and SB heatsinks?

I would say they are about the same (if not exactly the same) as the Blood Iron ones.

Thanks pal for the quick replys, but i don´t own a blood iron. Please can you give me some figures to work with.

NB: ~6CM (That is a VERY rough measurement)
SB: ~5CM (Again, VERY rough measurement)

Mcw30 on sb and dd universal on nb
60mm(sb) 62mm (nb)

This is mine, even though my board was doa ;(

Didn't know that until the blocks were mounted, which sucks

That is the DD 680i NB block by the looks of it...

Eddie3dfx
04-10-2008, 03:20 PM
you are correct, drilled a small hole to fit this block. Didn't feel like spending an extra $35 for another dd block ;)

The regular block is a dd universal chipset, either maze4 or the newer one

the new DD block kicks but BTW:

Wait the universal doesnt fit? You serious?

Wait eddie there talking about the DK series, not the LT or the UT which u and i have.

Sorry for the confusion.
The universal one fits. I just didn't want to spend the extra cash, so I drilled a small hole in my existing 680i block and it fit just fine.
My mistake, didn't read the fine print! thought you wrote lt-ut!
my bad!

How does the ram waterblock work? Care to show us more pics of internals, if possible?

personally, i like to keep it consistent...

dual MCW30's... SB needed some tweaking so it fits like that...

Actually I haven't even had an iota of a chance to test the ramblocks out because my motherboard is shot

It's simple actually.

Aluminum waterblock on top. Then plates attach to the ram with ramplex thermal pads that bolt to the aluminum waterblock. Mips is the same as as well innovatek one, except the mips is copper and this and the innovatek are aluminum.
Each block can cool 3 ram chips, so technically I can cool 6, but only 2 at the moment.
Most tests sites show a 6c or more improvement in temps over fan. It might not overclock it more than 20-50mhz over fan overclocked ram, but at least there are less chances of bsods.

Thanks guys, but am still at sea. Am getting the Lp dk p35, which has 1 pci-e16X slot and i know the board lay out ainīt the same with the one in Waterlogged and Kinghong1970īs pics. I spent over €80 on my old chipset blocks and it pains my heart if i have to get new ones for this board. Meanwhile the retension hole has 65mm gap between them, so does someone know if they will fit. I wounīt be building any crossfire rig as far as there are X2 vga cards for those that will be naging about 2 or 3 pci-e 16x slots, please save me the stress.

Well you wrote 65mm are you 100% sure of this.
The dd universal or mcw30 would not fit then

The universal is only 61.7mm max

This may work

Sorry Eddie3dfx, i mean the gap between the retension holes on my old waterblock will fit any board that has 50~65mm chipset retension holes.

I ran the Swiffy 30 for a few months on the NB but the new EK NB/SB 5 is better.. A little more restrictive but runs 2 degrees cooler... SB you can get another EK NB/SB 5 or the Danger Den Universal which is king...

Mosfets = if you're running a Quad - look into getting this cooled. Made a huge difference on my friends.. I'm awaiting the "Group Buy" going on for them... If you're overclocking, it's also a good idea to invest in one IMO!

Looking good so far no hic hops and putting every damn thing together with my fingers crossed. Am so damn lucky, had no issues when i fired up my new toy for the first time. Uninstalled nvidia drivers from vista and am good to go. Leak tested and bleeded my loop with my spare pc. which took me about 20 mins:yepp:

There is absultly no need to watercool the SB in this motherboard... Even if you are planning to OC to the extreme the SB won't get hot...

Unless you have an uncontrollable urge to throw money in the toilet
Better to buy a PWM block with that money (that you WILL need).

With that said here's my setup:

DD MPC Universal using a metal spacer from Swiftech to make it straight with the chipset:

EK has directly compatible blocks i believe, check his compatibility list, i think they are NB/SB 5 models

I am getting the LT P35 with a MCW30, I didnt knew the DD universal is compatible with the LT P35 with stock mountings. If it is then should I get it over the MCW30 ? The cost is almost equal since I will be getting Metal barbs with the MCW30 anyways.

Every block that you saw in the pics above, where formally used in cooling my ASUS P5N-E. So itīs not like am throwing my money away:frag: . I will check out the EK blocks for mosfet. I hope they come with black tops and i intend replacing the clear tubes with Tygon black R-3400. Maybe equally paint the interiour of my case, but i havenīt made up my mind on which colour:shakes:

Spawn32 thanks for the tip, does the EK mosfet block come with Derlin tops(black)?

Don't murder me for that :ROTF:

Well Ek doesn't produce PWM blocks for DFI...

Your best chance is searching the Watercooling forum for the Watercool group buy or the faulty designed MIPS.

If you live in Germany y you are lucky you can buy directly from their website shop: watercool.de

I've many say that Watercool is one of the best block makers in the world.

For DFI X38, P35 and X48 the Mosfet PWM block is the Heatkiller SW-16, here's the link:

Thanks for the info:up: , do you know if there is any review on the blocks. I have been searching the net for awhile without any headway. Meanwhile i donīt know if this is the right place to talk about stability. When i push my cpu to 3.5 or 3.8Ghz, it normally boots into windows but cpu-z reports only two cores. Does someone know what might be the cause:confused:
Am equally scared to push up the vtt volt up after reading about a dead cpu, that they suspect the cause to be from vtt overvolting. Please what is the safe volt for NB and cpu. Currently am running my cpu at 1.42v and the NB at 1.45v.
