I'm in the market for a new compact digital camera, but having a hard to deciding. I've come across the Canon Powershot SD series and really like two of them.

SD1100

SD870
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=145&modelid=15655

So far, it's between these two unless someone has another recommendation. I'm leaning more towards the SD1100 because it's a little cheaper though. Only Going to used for general purposes but I like high quality pictures :D :D

Point me in the right direction please :)

Go with the 870. For the marginal increase in price, you get a considerably larger screen which is incredibly useful. Bigger the better I say.

I went to best buy today and I couldn't manually set the ISO on the SD870 which is a turn down for me. The SD1100 wasn't on, but the sales person told me it was most likely the same.

Hmmm . . . Need to find some other camera now :(

you can set the ISO manually. Download the manual from Canons website and it will show you how.

Ah sweet, thanks MaxxxRacer. Saw the new Nikon Coolpix S510, S520, and S550 after looking at new cameras. I can't find the S520 anywhere so I think it might be the S550 or the SD1100

imo
Nikon is my fav for DSLR

but for compact point and shoot, nothing beats the canons.
