sorry for threadhijacking, but what do you guys reckon... is zalman mfc1 capable of running 3 high speed yates off one contact?

http://www.zalman.co.kr/ENG/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=207
the homepage states 7 watts per channel, which isn't encouraging :(

(if not, i can always use the switches :D)

I doubt it. Doing so would probably burn it out. If you don't already have one, a Scythe "Kaze Master" (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998038) would be able to handle it.

7W... id say only run one yate off it. two would probs overload it but i cant remember the wattage of a high speed yate of the top of my head.

Because all I know of the subject is an ampere is a measurement of current and not draw, hopefully someone can answer this question.

If a controller states it can handle approximately 1.5A per channel, could it handle 3 San Ace 1011s at 6v? This might even be a stupid question, please correct me if I have my ideology backwards.

Controller info - http://www.directron.com/maelstrom.html

Great diagram btw, thank you.

I think you'd be close to overloading it. And void their warranty. (it specifically states overloading it)

Id recomend going with the sunbeam extreme (http://www.petrastechshop.com/5surhexfansp1.html) it handles 30 wats per channel, 2.5 amps.

Hmm, the sunbeam extreme looks promising. If I could know for sure the LEDs can be disabled I'd be sold. I wonder if its as easy as snipping a connection...

yes, hold on, I'll snap you a pic... it has 2 leds, one on each side. To make it easier, just remove 4 screws, and remove it from the 5 1/4" bay. then you'll have free access to the led's. But try it first, these arn't as bright as others. Also, you can put regular knobs on them (not clear ones) then you only have a cool glow around the knob.

Definitely. Zalman is overpriced and overhyped.

Similar question: I have 3 San Aces 101s, would I need to upgrade to the Sunbeam Extreme Rheobus, or would the regular one be able to handle the load with all 3 on the same lead?

Regular one as being Sunbeam non extreme?

Yes, (barely) it's 20 watts. The 1011's are 6.24 each so 18.72

high speed yates are 3.6 watts each according to the .3 max amps @12v.

i wired three off one sunbeam channel, those things are so sick
