Second one looks great, definitely like the contrast of the gold and black. Orton effect on the first one right?

fake bokeh... lol. 18-55 has non-existent bokeh. Its one of the main reasons that I try not to use it vs my 70-300.
Good shots though. Nice work in PS too.

There wouldn't be any anyway - the two objects were less than a foot apart, and about a foot away from the lens.

With the 85mm F1.4 you can get good bokeh at just a few inches. check out flickr.

Only being within grabbing distance of the subject isn't going to get me much blur, but that's ok because I didn't want it. For this shot I had two subjects.
