X3360 is the xeon version of the Q9550.

@op - where did you find anyone with an x3360 in stock?

Well just got my new X3360 which is a 8.5x333 I only get 8x333. so my system boots up at 2.6 stock.. the entire reason I got this cpu was for the higher multiplier. I am on the lastest 3/20/08 bios

I need a new bios anyone got a Beta bios to help?

@X2 - I think you're out of luck until DFI releases "official" support for the Q9550. When will that happen... not soon enough :)

On a related topic: can your machine enter suspend (S3) mode? Have a look at this discussion (http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=28&threadid=2170695&FTVAR_STKEYWORDFRM=&STARTPAGE=2&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear).

check and see but I know people flashed the X38 with the new X-48 bios, the latest bios's for the X38 support half multi's , maybe you can flash to the 3/14/08 bios for the X-38 and use your missing .5 multi.

So.. how far have you been able to push the chip?

X2beach
04-04-2008, 01:04 PM
Same Exact Results.. Nothing Different. I just had another DFI X48 Deliveried so I am going to put it in a few minutes

Just tried 3.3 GHZ Still no love.. OCCT Crashes in 3seconds

OCCT is picky alright. Try tweaking your other voltage options. I wouldn't have gotten 3.80GHz to be OCCT stable without tweaking other voltages.

I think I have Tried about every voltage combo I can think of

Try to keep them somewhere around 89% of each other (lowest/highest = 89/100) to 111% of each other (lowest/highest = 111/100)

Incorrect. Run in the mid sixties on the DFI. 45nm tables are complely different than 65nm.

You mean 63%, right? Actually, going over 63% may help. I don't know why... but every time I lowered that value, the system would become more and more unstable.

Hmm... I wonder how that chip will run on my board...
This same board got two X3350/Q9450 chips to 4GHz already... and the second one seems like it can stay there as well.

I think the BIOS on the DFI X48 has voltage issues.. Hopefully the bios gets better
