Wow seems the Mozart is becoming a more popular choice, finished painting mine a couple of weeks ago. Just sleeved all the cables in the case and fitted all the fans (10), a little more dremeling today for the Thermochill rads and I'm building this weekend - can't wait.

How did the painting go? did you strip it all down?

Did that with mine then re-riveted with black headed rivets, sliding the HDD cage back in was a bit of a struggle tho with the extra paint layers.

Looking good, keep up the good work.

Nice job,

What did you use to paint the case back, and what type of spray?

andyc

First sprayed it with Corrostabil metalprimer then Corrostabil black, regular spraycan.

Will fire her up on monday, when the EnzoTech SLF-1 sb cooler arrive.

I have a Eheim Compact 600 pump/res combo, planing to use that and one of the Magicool Xtreme II for the 9800GX2 to come.

The pump/res combo will fit under psu.

Also planing to add a Magicool pro II with XL2īs to the cpu loop.

No, thinking 9800GX2 first one, them mabye quad-sli ;)

You think a Magicool Pro II with 2 NB Blacksilent XL2 in pull config,
is enough for a 9800GX2 ?

if that is a double rad no..

you would atleast need a decent triple rad w/good fans

CoNMaN
04-06-2008, 06:48 AM
Okey!

Then iīm putting the pro rad in the cpu loop and
use one of the xtream radīs for a singel 9800GX2

When I was a machinist, if I ever tried to pass of what's seen in the last 2 pics as a "finished part" that was ready to go out the door, I would have been called into the CEO's office and read the riot act. That machining quality is....well, piss poor* for lack of a child friendly, PC way of saying it.

*(Disclaimer: There may actually be a child friendly, PC way of saying this, it's just I'm not very PC.)

I am sure they will get smoother when the backlog starts to catch up. But that is no eexcuse for shotty workmenship, is that anyway that having all those ripples for lack of a better word would help the water by increasing turbulence and give lower temps... Hoiws that for grabbing at straws...

Still there is some thing very sexy about a big hunk of copper. I can't wait till I get closer to retirement and I can get my own mill and lathe....

Ohhhh the hours of fun...

Why is everyone jumping on these GX2's like its the hottest thing? It's a 8800 gt's PB&J(peanut butter and jelly) sandwich. My almost year and half old gtx single is a hair behind it and has more memory & bandwidth. With my sli, it crushes this card. Even two 9800 gx2's in "quad", only a tad better than tri sli with year-and-a-half old 8800 gtx's. BTW, gtx's go for around 200-250 on ebay now. Your a fool for purchasing this card. It isn't a new platform, it's a 8800 gt from six months ago with a markup. I just love the middle-high end gamers segment. So much money to be made from "must have it" idiots.

Its not 2xGT:s since they have only 112 shaders, 9800Gx2 has 2x128 shaders just like the GTS it is based on has(128) and is a light underclocked but easy do GTS-speed+ or GTS OC and some people donīt want to have nforcechipset since 680/780i sucks big time that is needed for SLI and for them 9800Gx2 is better than 3870X2.

The really fooled ones are the one that fall for the 9800GTX hype that is a 8800GTS OC but are capabel of tri sli and donīt give a boost worth the money over the GTX/Ultra/GTS512. The only benefit is it OC little bit more but not that it is worth anything, not even if they "get it for free" by stepup the performaceboost are to little over the cheap 8800GTS that is is insane to trade so there you have by your words "must have idiots".
My GTX is the next best buy i ever made in hard competion by the 7900GTO that i go +/-0 on when it was sold after 4 month, best was a 6800GT that died and was replaced by a 7800GS and i sold it for more than i payed for the 6800GT.
Even if i give my old 8800GTX away for free it has payed of it self so many times i donīt loose anything on that since i got it at release nov 2006.

My 9800Gx2 @OC and air crush my old 8800GTX@maxOC on water by at least 30% and i donīt expect a new card to be twice as fast as the old one all the time so i am not fooled by getting 8800GTS Sli in a package that i can run on my present X38 board before i go back to NV-chipset and 790iU when my maximus is dead since it is confirmed dieing.
Only spoiled ones expect that leap by every new step in cardrelease.

Only now with 790i Ultra something worth the upgrade from X38 is around from Nvidia and that is just in time for what is comming this fall.

how many pumps are you using on the CPU loop mate ?? I have the same case as you and I am considering going for a 2 loop setup rarther than a 1 on the CPU.

Did you notice much a dropp in temperture from going from 1 loop to 2 ?

Nice build mate !! Enjoy it !

Hey conman, I have the same motherboard. How happy are you with the temps on the mosfets, NB and SB? Are any of them hot to the touch?

Was there any modification at all to get the 680i mosfet cooler to work? and the little sb fan? Can you give anymore pictures of those areas specifically (bright ones?)

thanks!

Real happy with the tempīs! Everything is could and running nice.

Can take some new picīs this afternoon!
No modīs for the mosfet cooler, is the top mosfet cooler that needīs mod.

 Are the reservoirs on the bottom of the case?

Yes they are!
I turned the case upside down when i filled the loops.
So no air in my loops

Quick Question: What Feser tubing are you using? It seems to be exactly what I'm looking for, transparent blue under normal lighting and UV reactive :)
I'm assuming it's this: Feser Tube - FT - Active UV Hose - ID 3/8" - UV CLEAR / BLUE
http://www.feser-one.com/site/product_info.php?cPath=74&products_id=293
But I just thought I'd ask for confirmation ;)

Edit: The alternative is this one: http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=38_90&products_id=972
One is UV CLEAR / BLUE and the other is UV BLUE, I just would rather not end up with opaque tubes :)
