GGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Me = not chuffed.

I got a really good deal on some 10/8mm barbs so i decided to give it a go with my project, but god this stuff is crap. Its kinking on even the smallest bends, crippling my flow. The water is now trickling in my res istead of properly flowing.

So now I've gotta spend some more money and time on some new 1/2" tube and barbs.

Oh well

Go with 7/16", there's no performance hit from 1/2" and it doesn't kink as easy. Easier to route as well.

1/2 rulez:D

I prefer 13/19 XSPC tubing:)

You can't treat 10/8 the same as 1/2"-3/4" because of the wall thickness. You must take extra care in planning the loop as you have found out. IIRC, the minimum bend radius for 10/8 PUR (I think that's what you have) is somewhere ~30mm-35mm, anything smaller and it will kink. If it's PE, the bend radius is going to be even higher, maybe somewhere ~55mm-60mm.

I know about bend radius, is twisting the hose can't do. The slightest twist and it closes up. Its very ennoying as it was fine when I did a dry run, and as I bled it with the pump, it all started twisting.

Ah, yeah, you need to work with the natural curve of the tubing more as well. Sound like maybe this wasn't done.

Work with the natural bend of the tubing. And yeah no twists. I messed mine up too, and wasn't impressed with the bending either. Seems alright now though.

heh, I'd say cheap money spent and you learned that you don't like it. better than always wondering what ze'germans are raving about with their tubing. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. . .

What brand is it?

Im using small bore R3400 with 11/8 compression fittings and it does really tight bends.

I would advise using some Springz on it, stops kniking in most cases:

I`m surprised you had so much trouble with the 10/8 …If you`ve got the patience you end up with a far neater job

After a week or so it settles in and finds it`s shape …….

I bought the cheapest 10/8mm tubing I could find, had no problems

Did you twist the tubing against its natural curve or something when routing it?

Thanks i'll avoid Eclipse computers :)

I had some PUR 10/8 tube last year and from what i remember that was quit hard for tubing.
