Got this board last week & am thinking of getting a block for the Northbridge.
Would appreciate any suggestions, re best block that fit. The board is the same layout & dimensions as the Gigabyte X38 DQ6.

thanks:)

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I have the exact same question...except that I'm moderately sure that he's not right about the spacing. The X38-DQ6 has (what appears to me to be) standard spacing, whereas the X48T-DQ6 most definitely does not.

As you can see, there's a bit of extra space. What blocks will work? I'm quite willing to accept a block that's not the absolute best, as long as it will fit. :p:

EK has one for that MB specifically

Doesn't look very promising for the x48T. :(

EK has one for that MB specificallyCan you give me either a link or a model number? As ST said, their compatibility guide says they have nothing compatible, but I'm more than willing to believe that it's merely out of date. However, I am unable to find on their chipset page (http://ekwaterblocks.com/shop/index.php?cPath=21_32&sort=2a) any blocks that said they were specially made for that board, or even compatible.

The only thing compatible with the X48T are the Mosfet blocks.

Acetal (http://ekwaterblocks.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21_48&products_id=257)
Acrylic (http://ekwaterblocks.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21_48&products_id=256)

But that doesn't mean you cannot watercool your board. MIPS has a few parts. Link (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=2889809&postcount=75)

i think this one

and u shouldent have a gigbyte board if u are going to need liquid cooling but thats just my opinion

Nah no chance. Blame Gigabyte. Those caps don't help you either. Maybe a MCW30 or a DD universal might fit.

That's a SB block. Also, I'd prefer a really nice board, since this is an overclocking build first and a watercooling build second. I mean, yes, I intend to push it as far as I can on water (not quite ready for phase change yet...maybe next time? :p:). What I'd really like is a Rampage Extreme, but I recently discovered that it has a chip on the back of it right underneath the CPU, preventing the use of backplates that don't have a hole in the center. Lame much?

MCW30, seriously doubtful...DD Universal I looked at, and was hopeful based on the mounting hole range, but I don't have a measurement (only a picture I managed to find from another forum), so I don't know myself.

i said that becouse gigabyte kills ram, and has unstable voltage, and most backplates have a hole in the middle it isnt a real problem

if u got an mcw 30 u could make a custom plate if it dosnt fit

Watercool (watercool.de, they don't have a US distributor I think) has a block for the NB. They aren't the prettiest of blocks, but they're functional, since you can exchange the base plate so you don't have to buy new blocks with a new mainboard just new base plates :)

GTZ? :(

its got a spacer to compensate for that, and u could buy the EK back plate its like $5

its got a spacer to compensate for that, and u could buy the EK back plate its like $5Spacer? It's got sticky tape (or equivalent) exactly in the middle of the plate, where the chip is, for contact with the PCB. The EK is a good possible choice though. Also found some people recommending a Xigmatek plate (here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233020)) for use with the motherboard, but we'll see.
