Second year college student here, got my first realy interview for a summer internship at 10am tomorrow.

I know the basics - dress nice (suit and tie), be on time, have plenty of copies of my resume, don't chew gum, know a bit about the company, etc...

But what else?

Be honest. If you dont know it, say it.

Be EARLY, not on time.

Spell check your frikin resume.

Dont fill in blanks while you think with the word "Ummm".

Sit up, sit forward on your chair so you look 'interested'.

Do not piss on the floor (it happened, I swear).

I used to be a recruiter for a while, those are some of the things I look at aside from normal job qualifications.

Well, me being on time means I'm 10 minutes early.

The co-op/internship advisor here on campus said I have a very strong resume even though I have no experience in any fields yet. She had no corrections for me to make.

The reason i got my job now is because i was honest about my abilities, if not understated. IT is full of people who say they know everything but can't even tie their shoes.
