Hello!

I decided to

migrating from s939 :)

Bought my G0 Q6600, will be running it on highend air or water
Need help with the rest. :help:

I'm looking for a mobo that has:

MORE than 4 sata ports, and raid support
(if it wasn't for that, I'd get the ABIT IP35-E for only $60 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813127031)
can do 460+ FSB (for a possible future Q9xxx upgrade)
2x PCIE and crossfire support would be nice
no vdroop or mod-able vdroop correction
memory devider support
~$200 or less (I know the X48 rocks :( )

decent choices?:
DFI LP LT P35 T2R (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136039)
DFI ICFX3200-T2R/G LGA 775 ATI CrossFire Xpress 3200 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136032)

possible choices? (http://www.ewiz.com/query.php?dp=1&categry=221&brand=&pa0=LGA775&pa1=Intel%20P35&pa2=&pa3=&pa4=&pa5=&pa6=&pa7=&pa8=&pa9=&searchStr=Search%20from%20current%20results&myanchor=&dt=&ob=a&nl=50&anchor=)

And for the ram:

A-DATA 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211188&nm_mc=AFC-Bensbargains&cm_mmc=AFC-Bensbargains-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA)
or preferably:

OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227269)

or is it better to invest in memory with a little more oomph?

I did some reading, and see that P35 chipset is well-liked, but if it supports crossfire, why do so many mobos have only ONE PCIE 16x/8x slot?

Is it better to have 4x1GB DDR2 or 2x2GB ?

Appreciate your help :)

Could someone also confirm/deny how good the following memory is?

For a little extra... Is it worth it? Overclocking with a WC setup, of coarse.

@Kohan out of ya choices go P35 DFI mate and add the NB in ya waterloop... if ya intend to go Crossfire go with the X38 or X48 version then as the one PCI-E 8X will be a performance bottleneck...

For both ram questions, I love my Gskill PC8000PQ kits they run fab at the foreseen timings and speeds (1000mhz 5-5-5-15)... no issues there and no need to worry if they will or not OC...

For the Reaper RAM, I saw Tony run them at 1000mhz too... he suggests to run TRFC at 55 in bios with 2Gb dimms... so just make sure your bios can do that... so they are pretty amasing ram too then... and no worries about cooling...

im not gonna go crossfire with 2 3870X2s

I hate all multi-gpu solutions, it's JUST a small possbility

I've been out of the hardware loop for too long, especially w/ intel mobos
But the prices for the performance boards are $RAPE

if all comes to worse, i'll settle for the ABIT IP35-E and get a raid card :(

any help would be really appreciated.
and yes i do use search, and i'm reading constantly

this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqxeHdSwbp8
has me sold on the GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3-something

Is the only difference between GA-EP35-DS3R and GA-EP35C-DS3R the C's support for DDR3??

DFI LP UT P35 T2R vs DFI LP LT P35 T2R
-is the only differnce the bull---- "transpiper" chipset heatsink?

after more reading I narrowed down to these 4 being today's leaders, or did i miss anothe important contender?

:help: ABIT IP-35 Pro vs DFI LP LT p35 T2R vs GA-EP35-DS3R vs ASUS P5K (and which?) :help:

who is today's ultra-D that can do it all?
