I had a couple pair of Crucial PC8500 Ballistix

1st pair 2.4v @ 1200mhz lasted 1 month
2nd pair 2.45v @ 1240 lasted 3 weeks
3rd pair 2.2v @ 1100 working

Bad luck?
A lot of guys had it running at 1200mhz even at 4-4-4-10ish timings

Post your thoughts and what you fried! Crucial ram only.
Btw... Ram were actively cooled with 64 cfm fan

Of course those voltages are gonna fry chips.....

Depends on the batch you got. I have seen stories of these going both ways I have to be honest. But mine are rock solid at 1200Mhz for the past month or so.

The problem with the Ballistix is not so much the voltages fed as that they're very sensitive to fluctuations in voltages, as well as to high drive strength. If your board is providing rock-solid volts to the RAM then you should be able to run 2.2ish without too many issues, but if there's any ripple or fluctuation then even default volts can kill the chips.

umm 2.2v is the max i would go for 24/7 use. i used 2.85v on my ballistix and there fine so far but only for benching small amounts of time.
