I have just read on CDRinfo.com and tried to find out which DVD burner would be the best. One of their latest reviews included Pioneer DVR-215BK which they “highly recommend” but the confusing part is that it had lots of problem handling “error correction” and I got the impression that it was really bad.

A DVD burner isn’t the most critical part inside the computer but if I’m going to buy a new, so would I like to buy the best one in normal price range.

Have you seen any other winner DVD burner OR should I go for this one?

Thanks!

I would get the Samsung 203B or 203N (N has LightScribe). Clubcdfreaks which is a site where they talk about nothing but media and burners think very highly of both of them.

I have the 203N and it has burned zero coasters. (using Verbatim media)

Thanks to your suggestion so did I end up visiting cdfraks.com where they listed top 5 burners available this month; Samsung SH-S203B were #1.

About the lightscribe version, not that I exactly know what that is. Guess it burns text on the upper side on the disc? Is it worth paying extra for it?

Thanks!

Lightscribe allows you to burn designs on the top of lightscibe CDs and DVDs. I have never used it but I figured I would get the 203N since it was only like $3 more when I bought it. If you don't plan on using it and the extra $3-4 bothers you can you can go ahead and get the Samsung 203B.
