so the problem is simple, auto settings in the bios, with volts set to about 2.045 and at 1066mhz. the ram is way to unstable. the pc will randomly restart and lookup etc... slow it down to 1047mhz and the thing is far more stable.

this ram must be %100 stable in its aplication. i dont care to OC it. but i must have this ram stable at 1066 with, prefreably stock timings.

can you give me a hand setting the timings, volts and the like for this ram? if you need more info just let me know.

thank you

With 4 modules you do not need to increase the memory voltage above stock tested voltages, either 2.1v or 2.2v. Check the sticker for the voltage.

With 4 modules you will likely need to increase the voltage to your memory controller which is called the SPP on your board. Try raising it to 1.4v. Also raise the FSB VTT to 1.4v.

I have the same Setup as the OP. I didn't feel it relevant to make a new post, though I can if necessary.

I have the EVGA 680i. With 4GB 8500CD 1066.

The issue I am having is similar to the OP's. I can get past post shooting for 1066 but can not get the OS to load. (XP Pro 64bit 2003 Edition, SP2)

However, the 4x1GB I have are not Identical, They are both 4.2Vers but one pair is labeled as 2.1V and the other labeled as 2.2V.

I have taken the liberty of setting the Voltages as per Yellowbeard:

2.1V on the memory.
1.4V on FSB VTT
1.4V on SPP

I can successfully get them to boot (as I am posting now) at 1037MHz, but cannot go past that reliably. (even at 1037MHz I have had 3+ BSOD's)

The BSOD message(s) I can read are:
IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_OR_LESS_THANxxxxx ( cant make out the last part )
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

Other Setup Specifics:
EVGA 680i-122-ck-nf68-A2 1/22/08 Bios P32
Intel E8400 3.GHz DC - Default Speeds/Voltage
Dual EVGA 880 GTS 512- SLI - Default Speeds/Voltage
Antec 850w Truepower Quattro

Thanks in advance.

Masterpmi, try 2.2v on the memory.

I have a similar problem, but mine is unstable on my board at 1200mhz. It sure FEELS like it could be stable... but how...

Do i need to increase the NB voltage, or what? Everything is set as low as it goes, except the processor. Mem is at 2.3v, says 2.1 on the label. What should it be? Adding voltage dosent make it more stable really...

I never had a problem in a real life application, but it fails prime after 5-10 mins at 1200.

Masterpmi, try 2.2v on the memory.

2.2 ..and so far so Good...TY
