Got my new system running. 2100 @ 1896, 145x13, PNY GF4 4600, 256 Samsung 2700. Cooling, 226W Pelt, Vid 80W Pelt.
Now when I tried to do a 3D Bench with card stock setting it gets to the lobby game high res about 40 sec into it and kicks me back to desktop. Also tried to install MBM and when I install and start the program it kicks me to a black screen. Any ideas.

try running some benches at default clock on the CPU and see if it does it there. If it doesn't, work yer way up to the speed ur at now......mebbe there is some CPU instability there! Perhaps some more vcore ? :)

Thanks for the reply, dropped multiplier to 12 and it benched 9738. Atleast it benched.

have you tried FSB's over 166? now that I know ur CPU is unlocked....you should be able to run some pretty high FSB's depending on ur BIOS.....that is, if this is the 8K3A in ur sig that we're talking about ;)

It is and I will be trying higher FSB tonight when I get home.

Need a bit more info.

If it benches by dropping the mutliplier, it sounds like your chip is the limiting factor. So we need to focus on your core voltage and CPU temps under load. I'd think you could get higher than 1896mhz with a XP 2100 and a 226w pelt, so something seems awry there. Do you know what your water temps are?

N8 has the right idea, drop that multiplier and get the FSB way up for better scores.

But, you may want to find your max CPU limit with your set up first:)

Yep, what I do is find my CPU max stable MHz at a given voltage(voltage basically gonna depend on what ur cooling can handle, looks like urs should be able to hand 2.2v np :) ) Then I find my max stable FSB for my memory....at a much lower mult, that is. Then I find a happy middle(highest stable mult/fsb combo) :)

I think with your cooling that you will find that you'll be able to drop your vcore and remain stable at your max mhz too...i could be wrong ;)

I don,t know how to get water temp. cpu temp by DD5 is 10c. Thats with sensor touching cpu. I have not tried to oc the cpu yet. All I did was try to run a benchmark. Sys ran all night at 143x13. running Folding.

I could be wrong, but I would think your most accurate temp would come from the internal diode that is inside the CPU. The 8K3A will read this, and you can use MBM to see this in windows. Now that I have a motherboard that uses that internal diode, I don't know if I could go back to some other means of reading the temp ;)

I had the same problems.

First, drop back to stock speed, and reinstall windows.
Second, reboot after installation completion, and set your HDD PIO mode to 0.

This fixed my problems.

But I couldn,t run MBM remember it would kick me to black screen.

Does MBM run at CPU and memory default speeds?
If not, something is FUBAR'd in the OS or MBM install. Have you done a fresh OS install lately?

I will tonight and start fresh. How do you get water temps?

Don't quote me on this either, but I think the only way of accomplishing that is by adding an in-line temp probe like this one:
