Guys, I have a issue with me being bored, and having to stare at case that "crysis" is in. I have had this game for a month now, but knowing all the issues with it, never cared to install it. By looking at my PC specs in my SIG, and say I play the game at only 1440x900, with medium settings, could I have an enjoyable experience you think? I'm currently using ATi driver 8.2 and like it, where as the 8.3 driver caused some issues with my UT3 game, so Im back with 8.2. I have heard the 8.3 driver h\makes a huge difference for crysis though:shrug: What would you do? Thanks

I cant comment on the ATi drivers since I'm using Nvidia, but why dont you just install it and see for yourself? You did say you were bored.:D

I realize it may be a dumb ass post, but I get pissed when a game plays like crap. For some reason, it just pinches a bad nerve!

I understand completely, turning down the graphics to an appropriate level is just a pain in the ass.

But seriously though, if it doesn't play on your rig what the hell will it play on? You really bought a game only to wait 2 years before you can max it out so you can play it?

I didnt install it or like 2 months. But at some point I did.

Anyway, I was quite shocked by those reviews only showing like 20fps or there abouts. But tbh, it's quite playable at 15~20fps! So just try it out I'd say.

Install it. It'll run like a charm with your setup, I was playing it on a 7900GTO when it first came out on medium settings at 1680x1050 and it was very playable.

it played ok on my 7600gt's in intel SLI (love those drivers!)... granted that was all on low... Looks alot better on almost all high settings though!!!

Uuh q6600 + 2 3870's... dude are you high?

1680x1050 @ high you will have 40-60fps...

i can run it 1680x1050xAllmedium/PhysicsHigh on a e6420 and a single 8800gts320....@ 45-60fps dude. Very enjoyable.

Crysis is not a demanding shooter. 35FPS you will still find enjoyable. The storyline and sheer beauty of it (not to mention all the fun the suit brings) are well worth the pricetag.

I played the multi-player beta and the demo, but I'm waiting for the true next gen cards to play the full single-player and multi-player experiences. It will be glorious on 24 inches of 1920X1200 goodness.

Contrary to popular belief, Crysis is still very playable with halfway decent hardware. A lot of exaggeration occurred with this product, it really doesn't cripple machines THAT badly. Atleast it looks good, unlike a few games that get garbage FPS and look like, well.. garbage.

I didnt think there would be this many that bought it and never installed.

The demo was enough for me even though it was pretty.

Its not like crap unless you turn the AA past 4x.... and you have crossfire and a quad, I have a single GPU and a PD.... :ROTF:

For sure it's playable, but I want the best experience possible. Constant 60FPS at 1920X1200, ultra high settings, with 4xAA and 16xAF is worth the wait. IMO of course.

What did it take for Far Cry to run smooth with AA at higher res, like a 6800Ultra or a 7800GT... my 6600GT ran FC on Ultra 1280x1024 without AA... but those cards still came out way later...

I didn't play Oblivion until two months ago. There's a preview of my patience.

If I download the 1.2 patch, does this get my game fully up to date, or are there other patches?

Just played a good 1/2 hour of the game. Thought it was great! My current setup plays it well with setting on high @ 1440x900. Will this next setup that im building make a difference? The new settings are:

1. Same Q6600 @ 3.85HZ
2. Win Vista X64 SP1
3. 3GPU crossfireX (1 3870x2 DDR4, 1 3870)
4. 8GB G.Skill PC8500 @ DDR1150 (hopefully)

Im hoping this will allow for Very high settings, what do you think?

I'm playing on 1920x1200 and am kinda surprised at how well it runs with everything on high. I just got it going, and I recall seeing some optimization guide links somewhere on XS that can help with performance.

There are reports on [H]ardOCP (heh) that using Vista SP1 doubles Crossfire performance in Crysis with 2x 3870s.
