I saw that I can pick up a regular abit IC7 for around $120 usd, but a newer IC7-g max 2 is around $180 usd. Would I really gain that much buy the newer motherboard, or should I save my money and get the cheaper one?

Do you need the extra stuff that comes with the G version?. If so go for it, if not go with the non G. Do you use Lan? Do you need Raid?

They're both the same age. They both have ICH5R RAID.
The -G has gigabit lan, an extra silicon image serial ATA controller, and spdif out if you use onboard sound.

no, I have bet stuff for all of those features except I don't use sata. I will go with the non-g then.
