I have the 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit and on boot and within Everest its showing as DDR2 800. I am unfamilier with what needs to be done within my Maximus Formula BIOS to get it to what it should be.

Ok so I changed it in BIOS for 1066... when it boots it says 1066MHz but in Everest this is what it is showing:

DIMM1: Corsair Dominator CM2X2048-8500C5D 2 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (5-5-5-18 @ 400 MHz) (4-4-4-13 @ 270 MHz)

DIMM3: Corsair Dominator CM2X2048-8500C5D 2 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (5-5-5-18 @ 400 MHz) (4-4-4-13 @ 270 MHz)

Also in CPU-Z it shows as:

Slot 1 & 3 DDR2 PC2-6400 (400MHz)

Any help please, before I toss this out the window... starting to wish I had kept my crap Alienware lol.

Notice that Everest shows some whack readings, but they are actually the profiles that are in the ram. The actual speed is reported on the memory tab.

Looks like it is running 1068Mhz to me. (as was said in another thread here a couple days ago)DDR=Double data rate, so multiply by two to get the "effective" speed.

Well thats what I thought but was looking at the 400MHz showing in Everest and was like... ok 800MHz wtf?

1066 is technically 800 factory overclocked.. so a lot of times it gets reported as reg 800...
