On a side note...

The 16-50 f2.8 fast wide angle to short telephoto (24-75mm equivalent) features a lens motor and sealing against dust and moisture, just like the K10D and K20D camera bodies. At first glance, the street price of around $700 will seem very high until you compare it to similar offerings from Canon and Nikon. The 17-55mm f2.8 IS Canon will set you back $1000 or more and the Nikon 17-55 f2.8 is a healthy $1190. The Canon 16-35 f2.8 L is another comparable lens at $1370. By comparison the Pentax DA* 16-50mm f2.8 SDM, designed and built to similar Pro specs, is an absolute bargain.

I wish the rest of us could get a lens like that for that price

I've been saying it for almost the past year to everyone I can, Pentax has been making some absolutely kickarse bodies and lenses lately.

Probably the best pentax lens you can buy is the Fixed 50mm F1.4 lens.

Bang for buck it tops all the similar offerings from Cannon, Nikon, and third party manufacturers. And the best part, it only runs $200.

Most other brands even have a Prime that shoots F1.4 much less at a price point anywhere near Pentax's.

The Nikon 50mm 1.4 is 280 at adorama.
The Canon 50mm 1.4 310 at Adorama.

Yes, a bit more expensive, but its not like the big names don't have this lens. Pretty much everyone company who makes a SLR makes this lens.

That said, 200 for a 50mm F1.4 is awesome. I assume it does not have a built in focus motor.

No one will argue that you are paying for the name with Nikon or Canon.

That lens review you linked to didnt have alot of good things to say about it. It has issues with softness below F2.8 and CA issues all around. Distortion, Vignetting and build quality are excellent though.

People tend to snatch up Pentax lenses quicker than any other brand I sell ( I sell the family company's NOS items) and when I say quick I mean it:up:

ERR - that and binoculars

Hence 'fixed ;)'.
Fair enough comment by yourself and i did try and find the page,i still cant find it now,but it was up to date.
