how to remove stok cooler glaciator asus 3870

I try to get te cooler out, remove the four screws on the back side of the card but it dont move. Seems to be stuck or solder. I want to use my danger den mace 4 on that card. Have any one remove these cooler.

Did you try twisting the cooler since it might be struck by suction ?

yes i try twisting and cooler and oes not move even one millimeter.

If it doesn't move one millimeter, it might mean you forgot a screw somewhere.

Try heating it up first with a hairdryer

thats a good idea, it helped me remove a silent cooler on my x850xt a while back

Yea Im expecting to have to do that with removing my chipset and mosfets, after reading about some issues with removing them with the factory crap they put on thats almost like a cement.

Easier to do is use cold on them.....a can of circuit freeze spray (it's cold spray used to trace circuit faults that occur when the circuits heat up...which is why I worry about using excessive heat on circuitry and used cold instead), about 20-30 sec. of spray over, under, around the heatsink and it should just pop off with some persuasion.

Used that stuff to pop off my NB/SB heatpipe/heatsink from my Maximus Formula motherboard. Took all of about 1 minute total from start to heatsink in my hand.

finaly i can remove the cooler. It have a termal pad. Thanks to all now the card go at 850 core 1200 mems at 40º a little more that air cooler. can push the core to 877 but on the second thest of 3dmark my system freeze and i have tho reset. but 18100 3dmarks is enought

with heat or cold?
I tried to remove it to put a duorb but failed to do it :(
