I have an Abit KX7-333 Raid ver 1.0 and having serious issues with my raid controller. In fact it often happens that during the POST it doesn't detect my raid 0 configuration and it seems that is a ram related problem. When swapping my corsair pc3000 with an oem pc2100 module everything is ok. I also tried with the most conservative timing at 133mhz bus, with nothing overclocked and the problems is yet there... any ideas?

This might seem silly..but let me ask you this:

Does your board have the little yellow CMOS jumper for resetting the bios?? If it does..is it very loose??

The reason I ask is that many of the KX7's out there came with this loose CMOS jumper...mine did too. When I first set up my board...it would not detect my hard drives on the Raid controller. Maybe once in awhile..but more often not. I got to the point where I was going to RMA the board..but thru a bit of luck..discovered that the CMOS jumper was not always making adequate contact. I found this out trying to reset the CMOS..I unplugged my machine and moved the jumper..but the light did not go out on the board when the capacitors normally discharge. I wiggled it and the light went out.

So I replaced the jumper with a standard black jumper and all hard drive detection problems went away. Give this a shot and let us know how you make out. Good luck and take care:)

I swapped that stupid jumper after having the box opened for precaution :D However I solved my boot problem by replacing my rounded cables with standard ones. I have rebooted over 20 times since and no detection problems up now...

Glad ya fixed/found the problem.:)
Kinda odd it was the rounded cables though.
First time I've heard rounded cables causing such an issue.

some rounded cables are out of spec (length) and can cause problems

however the problem is not completely solved. Even with standard cables I'm having sometimes post problems (like 1 on 30). It's rare but it's still there... :(

How about some benchmarks? I bet that your RAID array wont go far past the 50-60MBps mark on writes, yet reach further on reads.
