The 8800GT is the fastest out of those.

yep, but ill sell my old comp for 400euros, and i want to keep some of the money and dont want to put everything in a new gfx card, so hmm, 130 for the gs, 154 for the 9600gt and 178 for the 8800gt 512; argh; the newest game i play is most likely universe at war; and not stuff like crysis etc;

Well this is the list, from fastest to slowest:

8800GT
9600GT
8800GS

The 9600GT and 8800GS are similar in performance, except for on a few games. The 8800GT is in a different league...

yes, but if the 8800gs is enough for my needs that would be great also, but i have no idea coz im still sitting at my 7800gtx and itll get sold so i need a new one, and i guess all of the 3 cards are faster than that so it wont mind what to get, argzh lol

I would go with the 9600 - newer series. Maybe I am missing something but the 8800GS isn't even out yet.

the 8800gs is out for some time now and costs only around 130euros so its nothing, and theyre all below 200 but mhm, i dont know which one to chose. argh i need some benches from all three in universe at war and ut3

If the 9600 is on par with the 3850, then I doubt the 8800GS is better.

With a little tweaking the 9600 is ~ to the 3870. The 8800GS is more along the lines of 3850. The 8800GT blows them both away though. ;)

gotta love those Newegg reviewers. they're claiming CoD4 with max settings @ 1680x1050 and no frame lag. i don't buy that for a second.

154 for the 9600gt and 178 for the 8800gt 512

get the gt it's 24$ more ffs.

it is excremental value

i mean excellent.

8800gs is a cripple with less ram, but @

1280x1024 w/o aa and af
gs is probly all you need tbh

also consider that ingame texture/effect settings will benefit from a more powerful card.

get a good price on the 8800gt

The lowest bus for a high-midrange since the 6600GT.... :p:
