Nice find, been waiting on the 780g to put the 9500 I have sitting on my desk into.
Ordered mine tracking says it will be here on the 5th, now just need the 790FX mobo to come out with the SB710 and maybe a 10.5 Barcalona.

the mobo allows you to OC the onboard graphics from the BIOS!

up to 1100mhz  thats being generous

though it did manage 880mhz with the max +.3v to the NB

and here are some hybrid xfire results

Hybrid CrossFire brings CrossFire technology to IGP by speeding up 3D performance with the help of an external ATi graphics card. So far, cards that will work includes the 2400 series, 3650 series and 3670 series. It improves the performance of 3D with the help of CrossFire driver. In this test, we use driver 8.47RC1 with a 2400XT installed.

http://www.ocworkbench.com/2008/gigabyte/GA-MA78GM-S2H/enabling-hybrid-crossfire-on-gigabyte-780g%20copy.jpg

3Dmark06 results improved by 78.49% when Hybrid CrossFire is enabled on AMD 780G board with 2400XT. Initial score with IGX is 1167. When Hybrid CrossFire is enabled with beta driver, the score shot up to 2038. The improvement is close to 80%.

http://www.ocworkbench.com/2008/gigabyte/GA-MA78GM-S2H/3dmark06-gigabyte-780g-crossfire%20copy.jpg

3DMark05 3D performance improves by 41% when Hybrid CrossFire is enabled on AMD 780G mainboard. This is achieved by inserting a 2400XT graphics card into the PCIe slot and setting the BIOS to boot from IGX first.

Initial score with the integrated graphics is 2503. After pairing it up with a 2400XT and Hybrid CrossFire enabled, it shot up to 3548.

I believe hybrid crossfire only works with the HD3400 and the HD3200(IGP).

But I do have a HD3850 sitting on the shelf I can try it.

Debello i was under the impression all HD3xxx cards were supportedNope, Hybrid CrossFire for a performance increase = RS780 with a RV610 core (same as HD 2400 Pro) working in unison with a HD 3400 series GPU. They'll both work to render the image in unison and increase performance. But if you paired any other card with with the RS780, there is no performance gain as both will not share rendering together. You can only use it for dual monitor setups and such additional features, not for performance enhancing or Hybrid CrossFire in other words. :(

I'm actually more interested in the powersaving features. It would be nice to use the IGP for desktop use and when you start a game the discreet card takes over and simply sends the image through the IGP. Crossfire with the IGP would only hold any high-end card back imo

That's why I'm buying it too, for my X2 BE. The Abit looks much better, BIOS is anyway. ;) I'm overloaded for time and space and living at someone else's cottage or I'd have tested two 780G by today because I had momentary hold of them.

Hey Debello, Did you get your board yet?

I'm curious to here some first hand experiences..
Sounds like I'm in your same situation, I have an extra Phenom and an HTPC that could use an upgrade.... :D

It comes in today, probably will have it up and running by the weekend. Going to need to dig around the cabnet and find a XP or Vista key, thought about linux but just bring myself todo it.

These things look amazing! :) What will put them over the top even further I think, will be triple core Phenoms with HT3.0 support.
