Yep.. I have decided to water cool my next rig, the 780i system with a custom Viper John chipset water block and passive aluminum (extruded to a high degree I think) which leaves me then to make a decision for the south bridge (or the one farthest away from the CPU socket) AND my radiator choice and loop design.

For my CPU, e8400, I have decided to make use of my old StingerV8 all copper water block, which has the following specs:

"S" channel design with Dual Outlets

http://www.stingerwaterblocks.mysite.com/images/omar2.jpg

Material copper & brass, stainless steel screws
Barb Size 3X 1/2" - 13mm, 1/4 NPT brass
Base Size 2" x 2.250"
Base Design "E" Channel Ultra thin Drilled Cup
Sealing Method Buna-N Gasket
Finish Highly Polished (premium) Machine (economy)
Inlets 1
Outlets 2

So now I need to decide how many loops and what kind of radiator and radiator fans.

I am using the CM Stacker 830 with the following specs:

Form Factor: ATX Full-Tower
Bezel Type: Swing Out
Side Panel Type: Vented
Power Supply: 1000 Watt
Material: Aluminum
External 5.25" Drive Bays: 9
External 3.5" Drive Bays: 1
Internal 3.5" Drive Bays: 4
Front USB Ports: 2
Front FireWire Ports: 1
Front Audio Ports: 2
Depth: 25.11"
Width: 9.84"
Height: 21.10"

and I intend to only use 1 5.25" bay drive for a DVD RW drive, no floppy, no extra CD/DVD drives.

So please recommend to me what you guys think of in terms of radiator selection, radiator fans, and the radiator placement in the case.

thanks in advance.

I doubt throwing water on your rig will help with your temps at all...

:D

Definitely looking forward to some pics.

Do you plan on watercooling anything other than the CPU. If not, then get a 2x120mm radiator and mount at the front of the case. This one is good: http://www.petrastechshop.com/swmcqposerab.html

Hi guys,

Yes I will be watercooling the GPU (an 8800GTX), the CPU, and the chipset.

So what radiator is the best for a 1 loop configuration or a 2 loop configuration ??

thanks and yes I will post more pictures now.

Nickel EK 8800gtx block

got a link... and also is there any particular reason why this block and not the standard version of the same EK block?

also my tubing is "ClearFlex 60- 1/2in. ID X 3/4in. OD" to be exact for those of you who want to recommend any particular clamps or zip ties :D

I prefer zip ties.

I prefer zip ties.

+1 for Zip Ties, I purchased some worm-drive clamps but preferred zips better.

BTW, if we want to take your thread title litterally, just fill a bucket of water and toss on the rig to cool it off
