View Full Version : Bonic works well with Vista yet?

The title says all.
I've been using Vista ultimate x64 on my main rig for a little over a year now. I've had no issues except that network issue which was solved by patching my linksys RV082.
While I don't care which OS I use for my crunching rigs, one of my crunching rigs serve me as a file server / workstation.
As I have an extra Vista home premium which I bought at the same time as purchase of vista ultimate but never activated it yet, I hope to use it on my workstation.
But -
I've heard that bonic has issues with Vista few months ago. I am wondering if Bonic is working well with Vista now.
So, Bonic works well with Vista yet?
No issues with Vista Ultimate x64 here. The x86_64 client has been working fine.

I have home premium 32 on my HTPC and it seems like when it started up it would load WAY to many work units and then not seem to report them unless i told it too. But for some strange reason it is working fine now:shrug:

alucasa, I've been using Vista Ultimate x64 for some time now with boinc version 6.1.0 without a single problem. I suggest grabbing it and using that version. I have tried that version of boinc on XP and it has issues but not on Vista.

Thanks, I have Home Premium x64 disk from MS. I will try to get it install and run Bonic on it in near future.

Running Vista Ultimate 32, Vista Ultimate 64, and Vista Business 32. No problems with any of them.

OS installation went smooth as well as driver updating.
However, BONIC x64 installer would keep crashing, unable to install, but I had previous bonic folder backed up, so that is not really an issue.
So, overall, good.

Vista HP x64 here, and no problems with 5.10.30. No crashes, been getting about 100% credit for nearly everything, and all no problems with uploading, either.

Vista Business x86 + BOINC 5.10.30 - no problems at all. There was that HCC issue but it also affected other systems and is fixed now.

No problems here with Home Premium 32bit. Running smoothly, and has been for a while now. 5.10.24 (or something) didn't work quite right, but 5.10.30 works fine.

I'm running Vista Business x64 on pretty much all my machines. Never had an issue.
EDIT: Sammy runs Win 2K3 Enterprise.

i am running Vista business 64bit on my quad and i have had no problems at all. i ran 32bit for a while and no issues there. in fact my machine seems to run WU's a bit faster in Vista 32 and even more so in 64bit than it did in XP. funny as everything else runs slower in Vista
