I have 3 pumps, 2 that I want to test to determine which one is stronger.
D5, D5-B, HPPS Eheim

Whats the best way to test the flow?
Just fill up a bucket and see what fills faster or see how far the water sprays?

get a length of tubing and extend it straight up from the pump. Whichever pump pushes the water highest has the most head pressure. The bucket test you described works well for flow measures.

I have a old VDO Fuel pressure gauge (http://www.carshopinc.com/product_info.php/products_id/55868/153-002D) that I use to quick check pressure when testing parts. It's reasonably accurate for a analog dial type gauge.

Someone did this test and the D5-B failed quite terribly...

I have an MCP655 and MCP655B I would like to test but the length and headroom required seemed to be beyond me as I stay in a rather small place :(
