Welcome!

Can we have your system specs? (Mobo overclocking options, ram, power supply, etc...)

I've seen an AVIA 1gig Tbird go as high as 1.51.

I would say 1.2-1.3 at least.

i use an asus a7a 266 mother board jumper free overclocking 512 mb pc2100 ddr crucial memory and a 350 w power supply 40 gb 72000rpm hd. i would love to get it up to 1.3 or 1.4 without doing any damage to it. what do you think?

I presume that the TBird is not a "C" with the L1 bridges closed from the factory. Most "C" AXIA 1.0GHz TBirds easily hit 1.33GHz by just changing the multiplier in the bios or by jumpers without any voltage increases.

Have you unlocked your chip yet? This allows you to change the multiplier in the bios. (sorry if you already knew this) :p All you need is a #2 mechanical pencil.

This will give you more overclocking options in the long run!

my AYHJA 1GHz t-bird is currently running at 1365mhz and (on a borrowed mobo) was running 100% stable at 1518. I just ordered an Epox 8k3a+ and Corsair pc2700 and am expecting 1666MHz!

Unfortunetly your motheboard doesn't allow multiplier adjustment so you'll be limited to fsb overclocking which is a little harder because fsb overclocking affects the pci and agp slots.

are you sure there is no way to adjust the multiplier on my asus a7a mother board.the bridges on the cpu have not been cut.there must be a way to make changes to the multiplier. i hope.

some of the latest 1ghz were known to run up to 1.6ghz :)

HEY THANKS A BUNCH LBJGH!!! YOU REALLY HELPED ME OUT ON THAT LINK.IT IS VERY HELPFULL AND I AM VERY LUCKY TO HAVE A CPU THAT WAS FACTORY UNLOCKED AND HAVE A A7A MB THAT HAS THE RIGHT DIP SWITCH TO DO THE MULTIPLIER SETUP..
THANKS AGAIN YOU REALLY MADE MY DAY!!

it seems i have run into a problem, when i turn on dip switch#10 and restart my pc i get a black screen. i know the L1 was not cut on the cpu cause i am able to rais up the fsb. and my bios vers is 1.04 the one that lets you use the multiplier feature.any idea what i can do to get the multiplier feature going. right now it is grayed out @7.5 and i cant adjust it cause it skips over that feature. heeellpp.:(

raising the FSB has nothing to do with the L1 bridges.. the L1 bridges control your multiplier....

FSB has to do with the motherboard and not the CPU

if the L1 bridges were closed what else would prevent me from adjusting it?

Your setup seems to be pretty cool. knowing your stepping on the CPU may help us & you know how much you can expect from the CPU. (if u don' tknow how to read the steppings its the 1st 4 or 5 letters on the second line, the one that comes after A1000..., and the first character of the 3rd line.)
My CPU is:
A1200....
AXIAyywwXXXX
9XXXXXXXX

So my stepping is AXIA "9"

is that on the cpu itself or can i find it in on the system information file? i am not sure where to find it.i hope its not on the cpu.i dont want to have to take it out of the socket...
