I cant remember the measurements of the maze4-gpu pelt and mcw50-t but it seemed like 80 watts was about the highest that would fit ( i think it was 40mm?). Anyway, is there any pelt thats high enough for some really extreme gpu cooling that isnt massively expensive?

pretty much all tecs are 40x40mm in size... what exactly do you mean?

80W is fine for all cards except those fx monsters maybe... a 9700pro produces around 35-40W of heat, a 9800pro maybe 45 or 50W, a 5800 around 75 and a 5900 around 65

some of the higher end pelts are 50x50 I think. Like the 226watt or 172.

Either way, I like the 110watt pelts for a video card.

Does anyone make a waterblock with a 110 watt pelt or do i need to get it seperate, like off ebay or somewhere then sell the 80?

never heard of a 110W pelt before...

i really really doubt that going from an 80tec to a 110tec will give you more than 5mhz on the gpu... well try it and proove me wrong :D

Just got a few questions.

Is there any reason why http://www.dangerden.com/mall/Pelts/peltiers.asp (final pelt 172 watt) would or would not fit in the maze-5 gpu or the swiftech mcw-50t. Id rather go with the 50-t since it is cheaper and looks nicer.

Should a 14amp psu be able to hold an 11.5 amp pelt if nothing else is on the line, just the pelt?

Thanks.

should be able to.

in all honestly, just get the 50-t.......it's a good setup.

The largest 40X40 that I was able to find was a 24v 172w, it fits in the MCW50 without a problem. You can find several pelts at www.dangerden.com http://www.dangerden.com/mall/Pelts/peltiers.asp

What do you use as a rad for that? :stick:

I just replaced the 80watt in the swifty with a 172 24v. Works fine but needs bigger power supply of course. It will work with a meanwell (13.7v) but only helped about 3-5c. Have a 24v coming which I'll run @ about 17.5 or 18v and should help quite abit. goodluck

How did you swap out the Tec on the swifty? I see some screws on the bottom of mine but it looks like you would have to ruin the foam in order to get it off. I have been looking into a 172w but don't know how to get it on my MCW50-T.

Get yourself a new MCW50-T gasket kit from Swiftech or Cooltechnica. I always keep one or two on hand myself.
