Hello,

The name is Adam and I am lookin for some help in trying to get my computer past the 3.150 MHz

Stock of course the 6000+ is a 3.0

In my 0804 BIOS i have changed my CPU to 225 with a 14x multiplier. The ram stock is set at 5-5-5-18-2T, The voltage was stock at 1.44v and the DRAM to 2v. With these settings I was able to get 3.150Mhz no problem.

After changing the CPU to 230 with the same 14x multiplier I got the blue screen after the windows loading screen and it rebooted. Anything higher than 230 the computer stays on but no video. i have to restart the computer, which then restarts the BIOS process.

Anyone have experience with the 6000+ and/or Asus Crosshair that might be able to help me out?

Here are my specs:

Crosshair Mobo 0804 BIOS
AMD X2 6000+
Corsair 2x 1GB Dominator ram
eVGA 8800GTS
WD Raptor 75GB HD

Thanks,
Adam

the v-droop on this board is real bad. You have to raise v-core higher and check your volts under load to know what you are running. CPUZ is good for volts and Orthos is good for load.

Thanks for the input hemi.

What i've realized is that even when raising the v-core, i cant raised the CPU anymore than 230. I raised it to 1.46 range and i was able to get 3220.22MHz. No matter what else I try it will either show the welcome screen then restart, or wont get past the windows loading screen.

I tried ORTHOS. As soon as the 2nd test came on. My computer froze. Showed the program error (send a report or dont send screen) But heres a screeny:

Hello Adam. What's the stepping of your cpu? I've been running identical setup with settings 227*15= 3405@1.5vcore, 314*11@1,5vcore. There's up to 0,05 vdroop on the board, that's why the high vcore (the board probably undervolts a bit too). You don't need to touch nb volts, cause the board can handle over 400htt. you'll need to lock your pci-e speed. I've never been running the 0804 bios, but the 0702 bios was ok. If you check out the F3 steppings and oc sticky you should be able to learn a few tricks too.

Edit: Seeing your screenie once more You'll probably need to lower your ht multi to 4 cause AM2 boards can become unstable at +1000mhz (without additional volts)

my stock voltage is 1.44, so when going to the 230*14x with 1.46v

Here's what my buddy said:

- Disable Cool & Quiet in BIOS (I dont even think its enabled stock)
- Put your PU/NB HT to 4 or 3 for more cpu freq
- Turn off PEG link mode (dunno what that is, so i'll have to search for it)

Think that will help?

Thanks again for your help.
Adam

That should probably help.

Are you using the stock cooler?

If your'e using a aftermarket cooler of quality you don't need to be afraid of cranking up your vcore. I've been running mine with 1,65 vcore (1,60 effective), with my Zalman9700 LED cooler. That's pushing it though. The Windsors can handle quite high vcore. Your stepping is important though. If you got one of the early 6000's you probably got a CCB6F, it will probably not overclock much. See here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=151746

well. I was able to get to 3289 and that was it. I tried just about everythign that was told to me, and unless I missed somethin, I dont think this computer can handle much more.

After going past 235 the windows loading screen would show for 1 second then turn black immediately. No blue screen, no nothing. Just black. Computer would still run.

Here is what my settings are:

adjust your memory volts auto may not set it high enough. You could also lower your mem speed from 800 to 667 or so to keep it closer to stock.

Thanks for the input Hemi, But its been done. Even in the Pic the speed is at 667 and i've had the DRAM set at 2.0v before. still nothing. I dont know if thats this chips max. but 3289 is the only thing i've been able to get out of this dam chip. Its not my temps. seeing that im water-cooled and dont go over 40C. i stay around 33C. Not sure wtf is wrong here

stepping?

if it's a CCB6F, this is as high as you can go I think. If it's a CCB8F, there's something else.

Seems like its the chips max, you can lock your pcie's to 100 (you probably already tested that), and see if it helps, but your settings seems fine, so it's probably the chip that is maxing out. Bad luck.
