P5k-E cooling.

My P5k-E northbridge reaches temps of 50C, and I'm wondering if it would be advisable to cool it down by adding a chipset block to my watercooling system. I'm running 3.6ghz on my processor, with the NB voltage untouched, but the fsb is running at 450mhz.

One of the things I'm worried about is that 30$ isn't THAT bad to spend, but the heatpipes go all around some moffsets, and I don't know if those would need cooling as well once I remove the heatpipe....

look at my worklog in sig, I'm using a P5K-E and I will add the Nb block very soon. You will see how I dealt with the mosfets ;)

I have the same board and I really don't think we will get more juice from this board adding a NB block.
If you hit 450 FSB you are near the wall. The temperatures on my board are really crazy, but the CPU. The NB temperature sometimes hit 50º and after that it goes down to 2º!!! I would not trust that.
I just remounted all heatsinks before installind the board and add some Mx2 paste.

I suppose it isn't needed to add nb waterblock for sure.

I have a p5k-e wifi and I am not cooling nb with water, just cpu and gpu but I never get temps near 40c and I am running 1.55v nb with fsb at 490 24/7 without a single issue. Maybe you need to get better airflow across the heatpipe.

you can use waterblock on the norhtbridge and themalright hr 09 to cool on both your mosfet.

Usually, I wouldn't bother with this stuff, but yesterday I was screwing around with my case, and i accidentally touched the N/B heatsynk and it BURNED:shocked:. It was hotter than any other pc heatsynk I've ever touched, so I thought that couldn't be too good...
