There is a newer version of Prime95 out, v23.6 but it's still beta FYI. Download it here (http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm),

What are the differences with this release?

"It is up to 25% faster than version 22. Athlon and Pentium 3 users will see a small speed increase too. The Windows version also has small improvements in the torture test. There are no known bugs at this time, but it is a pre-release so check back every now and then for the official version 23 release"

just seems to get updates for speed improvement..

This may/may not help stableize tho.. if there made to use the newer sse2 and whatknot then it will most likly limit your ocs a bit.

Bascially just like folding@home did when they upgraded there clients to use sse on amd platforms..

Yeah i tried it, torture test has 4 options.

no difference for me with previous version but some guys told me that it is more critical for stability

I wouldn't trust it personally, you could never be sure if the errors or crashes were down to your OC or the beta software, obviously you can't competely rule out software error with the stable version, but it's less likely I would say.

I'm sticking with the version i've always used simply because I have grown to trust it.

i don't know if my system is really that unstable, but i can never seem to run prime95 for more than like 2 minutes without it saying erroe rounding at .4 when supposed to be .5...

i don't know if it is something with my setup, this program, or my computer is an unstable piece of crap...???

Does it fail the tests even when totally stock?

I don't trust Prime95 at all.

I started disliking P95 as well but at the current time been running it even at and during this post, for hours on end at the 2900 mhz range. On an AMD:D

My favorite one would have to be V19.0.1.

There is no better cpu stability test then Prime95. If your system fails prime95 then it is *not* 100% stable. Sure it might not crash playing UT2K3 or running 3dmark, but your system will not be 100% stable.

For some people this is okay, for others like myself, I do not consider running anything less then 100% prime stable.

To each is own.
