Hey guys will a D5 pump (non vario) with a MCR-220 and I have two MCW-60s be enough to cool a 2900xt and a 2900 Pro in crossfire?

Probably with decient fans on the mcr when you game.

The load temps might be a bit high compared to other water setups, but it should be lower then air's.

Ok well I have a 3.2 with petras top and a MCR 320 also. I guess I could use it...

its all a matter of what you feel comfortable at. If your not volt moding, the MCR220 wont hold you back any.

There really isnt any difference between a GPU loaded at 30C vs 50C. The cards will oc the same, because there mostly votlage limited.

so its up to whats comfortable to you....

I am going to use modded bios. I think I will try the D5 and MCR-220 and try to save the 3.2 w/petra top and MCR-320 for another Quad core rig then...

errr.... does the mdoed bios allow a voltage increase?

if thats the case, save the mcr220 for the other quad on a cpu only loop, and drop the mcr320 on the gpu's.

Yea the voltage will be modded also, dang I did not know those cards put out that much heat. Maybe that is why my current rig in my sig runs at 60c with one 2900 in the loop. I have some new parts coming in Wednesday and am going to redo my water cooling. I am going redo the loop in my current rig for the cpu only, and another loop just for the VCs. I was going to take the D5 and 220 rad of another quad rig and use for the VCs and put the new 3.2 w/petra top and MCR 320 back on that quad rig. If they run that warm I will give the 2900s a 3.2 with petras top and 320 radiator...

nah save the DDC's.

I would use a D5 on the GPU's. Reason is i dont fully trust ddc's. Also gpu's dont have a shutdown temp in place when gpu overheats. Less chance a D5 will die.

Also gpu block dont have impingment heads or require super massive flow pressure. So you dont need a massive head output pump on the gpu.

I do however recomend you dropping the MCR320 on the vc's off bat, expecially if your gpu's are volt moded. You'll want that headroom off bat to know how much further you can go.

Ok, that is what I will do. Thanks for the info. :)

I also have a Ehium 1250 pump sitting around doing nothing. I wonder if it would be ok with the 2-MCW-60s and the Swiftech 320 Radiator? I would not have to steal the pump from the other rig if I used it...

lol... YES.

They would be fine with even a crappy DB-1 pump.

Remember it takes quite a bit to raise water temps by even 1C.

Cool, one more question. I currently have the Fuzion GPU block on my 2900 but I ordered 2 - MCW60s. Is there much difference in the Fuzion and the MCW-60? Should I change the fuzion out or would running a Fuzion and a MCW-60 be ok with the Ehium 1250 and the 320 radiator?

umm... this is a gpu loop only right?

So the fusion gpu block... it was shown to be one of the most restrictive GPU blocks. :\

The temp difference shown was within a couple of C's. You can change it if you dont like it aesthetically. If you dont care, then i dont see whats wrong with it.

Its more of a question on aesthetics.

But primary put the fusion up front, and the MCW60 as the secondary flow block. The primary tends to work more then the secondary, so im gonna assume you want the more restrictive block up front.

Yea it is a GPU only loop. I can change it as I will have it all apart tomorrow. I just started out with a Fuzion GPU block because Petras was out of the mcw60. Now I am adding a second 2900 pro so I am taking the Fuzion gpu out of my cpu loop and adding another loop for the gpus. I have 2-mcw60s on the way, I just did not know which is better block..

MCW60 of course is a better block. :P

But as i said its about aesthetics. Dual MCW60's looks nicer then having 1 offset pair.

np.... good luck on the build. Make sure you come back with pictures!
