Which camera for ~250$ ?

I want to buy a camera in the mentioned price range , i am not a pro or something, just want a camera to take pictures of important moments in my life .
i prefer the camera is in stock @ www.newegg.com

Thats my suggestion. I prefer Canon for compact cameras and this is a great little camera. 8MP is more than enough, and if you go for a 12MP compact, you are going to get very noisy images due to the smaller photocells.

The Digital ELPH is a good series, however if you plan on taking any photos in lower-light, such as indoors, I would highly recommend you look at a Fuji with the SuperCCD instead.
