Noctua NF-P12 – Great Performance Fan

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/1884/hpim3156uz5.jpg (http://www.revioc.com)

Today we have for review the famous fan from Noctua, NF-P12, known for the excellent performance and silence that it provide us.
In this review we will see if all this nice words about this fan are true.
The fans always had an important role in cooling. Few years ago most users used aircooling, but today we
have some other choices, for example watercooling and even phase
change. Even in those types of cooling the fans are very important, they left the cooler to be on a radiator or condenser.

Talking about this fan, we start by seeing the specs,

The package

We will have this fans competing

-Noctua NF-P12
-Tuniq 120mm fan
-Lian-Li 120mm fan

Note: Tuniq 120mm fan has a 9 blade design too.

To get different RPM (Rotations Per Minute) we used the adapters that came in the bundle, L.N.A to get 1100RPM and U.L.N.A to get 900RPM.

The software used was
-OCCT
-CoreTemp

The method used was run a 20min custom test on OCCT, monitoring the temperatures through CoreTemp.

May I say that these fans - despite being extremely ugly - are perfect in every sense of the word?
I have been using them for a month now in various systems, and I can confirm there is no fan out there that can compete with the airflow and static pressure at the same noise/RPM level - not even Scythe S-Flex (and certainly no yate loons )
They also have a perfect bearing that sounds 100% smooth no matter how low you turn the volts or which way you mount it.
My SS that's currently under construction will be cooled by a Noctua P12 - no need to say more i guess :)

I think that NF-P12 is perfect... better then Nanoxia FX...

They are great fans indeed and have a wonderful performance/noise ratio.

Looking forward to the results.

Been thinking of replacing my 3 yate loons with these. I await results

I will test this fan against some other fans on a Tuniq cooler

I think P12 is the best fan on the market today… Combines perfectly the power, the pressure and what really matters for me… the silence. It’s not that silent like the S12 but @5V at about 600RPM is silent and still blows a lot of air…
I’ve tested one piece and I’ve been impressed…

Cant you just post theresults here?

Isn't it against the forum guidelines to link to external reviews?

Great review! But how does the Noctua NF-P12 compare to the Scythe S-Flex F 1600RPM fan? After all the Scythe has 63.7CFM airflow, whereas the Noctua NF-P12 has 54.32CFM.
These Noctua fans look freakishly amazing for case fans, but what about putting them as a CPU fan? Would you recommend the Noctua for a CPU fan for the TRUE, or go with the higher flow here?

Yes, I would recommend them for CPU Coolers, they are very silent and have a very good airflow. When they are at max RPM (around 1340RPM) you will not hear them, 19.8db is almost inaudible :)

Use a Scythe S-Flex or Ultra Kaze to give it some proper competition. ;)

Actually Tuniq 120mm fan is very good too, but it cant compete against Noctua NF-P12 if we talk about noise :)

btw, I want to say thanks to Noctua :)
