View Full Version : Is the MCW50-T's pelt big enough?

I cant remember where but i thought i remember hearing that an 80 watt pelt on a next gen video card (9700+ or equiv.) was not enough. I want to get a pelt graphics cooler, but my 350 watt extra psu only has 14amps on the 12v rail. Its a raidmax, and right now im in a mod to add an extra fan to it.

Thanks.

80W is enough, even for a 5900ultra.

80w is enough for current videocards but I doubt you'll want to run it on your current power supply.

According to Swiftech the MCW50-T draws about 7.5amps off the 12V line, leaving 6.5amps for the rest of the system (if it can even deliver 14 amps) is not a lot. :(

Nope, i have a 400 watt antec with 18 amps for the system and a 350 watt dedicated to the pelt :-) I just hope my mod works, theres barely room inside the psu for another 80mm fan.

Ahh sorry Sick0fthelies, I missed that! That 350W PSU will work just fine. :)
