I've been wanting to try this memory for a while, but am not sure which one to get. I would like your opinions on their line of products, and the below items in particular.

I am looking at their 2GB kits, PC2 8000 CL5, PC2 8000 CL4, and PC2 9200. Of those 3 kits, which do you feel is the best?

I would buy the Ballistix PC 8500 over them, here in Europe they are twice as cheap as the cell shocks....

I've tried 3 sets of Ballistix from Newegg in the last month 2 tracer's, and 1 regular, and they have not ran worth a &*%$ on my 780i.

how to see the difference?

newer batches got no clips
some kinda thermal glue
simon i got my ballistix in a safe place usin mushkins for now
they can do 1200 4x1 with 2.13v:D didnt try less voltage though
did you get them 2 ncix?

So back on topic, can anyone recommend one kit over another? I am leaning towards the PC8000 since it requires less voltage, and more than likely will do the PC9200 speed at 2.4V

Hi Gunslinger! I had a CS PC8000 CL4 2GB kit running at 1200 (600) with 2.25V 5-5-5-15 on everyday use, 4-4-4-12 -> no post (I didn't increase volts over 2.35 so I don't know how far they will go if told to). Recently bought another 2GB kit and haven't OCd much yet... I'm quite happy with PC8000 CL4. Just make sure you don't buy the v2 version - it's elpida.

One thing bothers me though... Take a look:

Same thing with slots 3 & 4. Supposed to be the same memory but cpu-z shows the two kits differently. Something to worry about or is this normal with kits from different batches? Has it something to do with MB banks?

Thanks

Tipsi

The best bet would be CellSchock PC8000 CL4. I've got a pair that can do 1260mhz 5-5-5-12 with 2.28v easily.

The good thing with Cellshocks is that they guarantee you certain ICs with certain lines. PC800 CL4 V1=D9GMH (I have 2Gig of them), PC1000 CL5 can be D9GMH or D9GKX, PC1000CL4=D9GKX for sure - don't know about the 9200 but I guess it's GKX too. If you want to go with lower volts, GKX is the way to go.
About Cellshock rams in general, they have cool screw-secured (as opposed to falling off with some Crucial-Ballistix) heatspreaders (ones that actually do spread the heat..) and they use an 8-layer PCB which - in theory - makes them more durable especially at high voltages.
I've been running my D9 24/7 since 10 month now, at something around 1100 CL5-5-5 and 2,1V no problem :)

Anyone have an answer on my question above?

They have switched from non-EPP SPDs to some with EPP. If you set the timings manually it won't have any effect. If you want to have the same SPD on both, send a message to saaya.

Maybe you can flash them at home under his instructions. Otherwise you have to send them to Germany.

Thanks Desert Igel ! saaya helped me out. Problem solved.
