Hi,

I'm preparing my build for college and I was wondering if I could get some advice as to the best case to use. I know that the MM UFO's accommodate the most amount of cooling but I'm not looking for anything too extreme. I think I am planning on just cooling a Q6600 (or its future replacement) and an 8800GTX (or its replacement) with probably two 240mm radiators, one pump, and a cpu and gpu block.

I know that the TJ07s work as I think would a TJ09. Any other suggestions? I am mainly looking for a tower that I can cram all of this into. Thanks!!

I can't make a suggestion into the best, but I can tell you my Thermaltake Armor is great in my opinion, nice and big, Im cooling an 8800 gtx, e6400, and the nb and mosfet. Do you intend on having the radiator inside the case?

With the TJ09, I was planning on one inside on top and one mounted in the back outside. And for the TJ07 I was thinking a radiator in the bottom and one mounted on top.

Can anyone clarify if this can be done in the TJ07 without removing a hdd cage? Does anyone have measurements of the case? specifically between the end of the case to the first HDD cage? Thanks.

Well if you are willing to mod - every case is good..

But i would say a big case like

CM stacker, Lian Li A71, Silverstone TJ7/9 and Thermaltake Armor

The v2000/v2100 by Lian-Li seem to be well received as far as water cooling goes

I'm going to college thank you very much :p

And you don't necessarily have to 'go big' at MM...the H2Go case fits nicely in a dorm room :D

CM stacker or Lian LI. I have 2 2x120mm radiators in my stacker, and I still have roo, for 8 hard drives.

The Qmicra v2 at pcdesignlabs (http://www.pcdesignlab.com/Qmicra), designed and made by Dave Lalopa may be worth a look especially if you’re considering just a 240 radiator

Full spec at pcdesignlabs (http://www.pcdesignlab.com/Qmicra)

Bill Owen at Mnpctech has also modded a few which are well worth checking out

Only mATX case I ever saw with a place to mount a 2x120mm rad!

You can choose the Tj-07. One radiator can be mounted in the bottom of the case and the second can be mounted on the top. Look in the forums at pictures of Tj-07s with radiators mounted on top.

Thanks for the replies guys!!!

I acknowledge that the MM are great cases - it's just the whole cube look that I don't like. Nothing against their functionality, just my personal aesthetic case.

I liket he TJ07/09 for its functionality and I don't want to take anything away from that. What I originally had in mind was a build with 2x240mm radiators in a TJ07 with one mounted on top and one mounted on bottom, but so far I haven't seen any in the w/c case gallery. I was wondering if anyone who has this case could give me some measurements from the hdd cage to the back of the case.

Thanks again!!

Yeah, if you dislike the cube, my second choice would be the TJ-07.

I would definitely say any of these tj07, stacker 830 evo, basically any mm case (and that includes Lian Li's oem cube case), thermaltake sword (assuming you can find it)

There are plenty of GOOD choices, honestly the BEST will only be up to you as that's your personal opinion

cooling capacity doesnt come near it tho.
