This will be my first try at watercooling. I am planning to cool my cpu, gpu, northbrigde (with built in waterblock on Maximus Formula SE). What parts or what kit should I get? The parts should not exceed $300 USD.

Ok here is a list of the best parts.

D-Tec FuZion - CPU Waterblock (http://www.petrastechshop.com/dfuuncpubl1.html)

MCW60 - GPU Waterblock (http://www.petrastechshop.com/swmcgpuwawg8.html)

MCW320 3x120 Radiator (http://www.petrastechshop.com/swmcqposerab1.html)

MCP655 (aka Laing D5) Pump (http://www.petrastechshop.com/dadenlad5in1.html)

Swiftec Mirco-Res (http://www.petrastechshop.com/swmchire.html)

7/16" ID 5/8" OD Masterkleer Tubing (get about 10ft) (http://www.petrastechshop.com/7id5odmagepu.html)

D-Tec High flow 1/2" Barbs (get 6) (http://www.petrastechshop.com/dhifig1th1od.html)

Petra's "PT Nuke" anti algea liquid (http://www.petrastechshop.com/pepcobi1.html)

UV Reactive Pentosin G11 (http://www.petrastechshop.com/peg11coadb4o.html)

D-Tec Fuzion Nozzel Kit (http://www.petrastechshop.com/dfuacnokit.html)

Thermalright Bolt-Through Backplate (for CPU Waterblock) (http://www.petrastechshop.com/thlgbo.html) This will help seat the CPU block better which will result in better temps.

That comes to $345 shipped.
I know it's a little bit over your budget, so if you don't want to spend that much you can always get that GPU waterblock (MCW60) later.
But it you want an awesome budget watercooled computer this is the way to go !

I got the bolt through kit to use with my Fuzion but the bolts that came with the Fuzion don't fit into the TR backplate.

This is a first rev. Fuzion if it makes a difference.

What he said.

You will need ramsinks as well, if you go with that GPU waterblock.

OR do this:
http://www.petrastechshop.com/pecogpuel.html

Knock the rad up to 320, and add the ramsinks. Would save you a few $, and the DDC is a pretty god pump as well.

Yeah, I got the TR backplate it it works perfect with my Fuzion. The bolts are M3. And  to smee's recommendation.

Sadly I do not know where to get M3 bolts in Canada.

Now I've got a backplate just sitting here. :(

M3 is metric, so it should be easier to get those in Canada! Just go to your local hardware store and look for M3 screws in the appropriate length. I'm SURE you'll be able to find them.;)

Thanks for the info. Now that I know what type of screws they are Home Depot may actually be able to help me this time.
Last time I went in to ask, they had no idea what type of screws would fit into it.

It's what the tubing connects to.

I've never heard of that, so you use this instead of the standard backplates, so like with my swiftech apogee gt that would help for better mounting or is it a fusion thing?

The price is right anyway, just surprised me to not use included hardware.

You could always use other backplates. But the Fuzion itself does not come with a backplate.

raises his hands, chanting, resurrecting the thread with gleeful delight

coughs

Well, I figured resurrecting this one was better than starting a new "OMG HELPZ!" topic...

Right, so anyhow... Reading this topic, I'm ordering (and luckily found in stock) an E8400. Along with that is an Asus Striker Formula II, a GeForce 8800GT, some half-way decent 2GB sticks of ram (Since I figure I'll go 8GB, and yes, I have a 64-Bit OS).

Would you suggest the aforementioned build for me? Or something different? I have a similar budget of $300. I plan to at some point in the future to go SLI, but right now that's out of my budget so I'll go later (and I'm assuming I can just readjust the loop when that time comes?). I'd also like to cool the CPU, GPU, and Northbridge.

Further, I don't mind loud fans or power consumption, if that would reduce the price or increase the performance (or both).

I'll probably also be checking a different store, since I live in California and wouldn't mind avoiding sales tax >,>. I also have to order everything from the same store though for credit reasons, so I might just stick with the aforementioned site.

Anyone have any suggestions as far as Full-Tower cases that would go well with this kit? I'm aware of the Gigabyte Aurora, but figured I'd ask.

And finally...

I noticed PT nuke was suggested along with Pentosin... was this suggested for simplicity sake? or is it arguably superior to the distilled water mixture in the FAQ?

Anyhow... Er... thanks? If I should stop hijacking this topic, do tell me and I'll go make a separate one >,>.

Thanks again! Sorry to be a hindrance!
