Just noticed it myself, dunno if I'm a bit late :). Can't wait....

The problem's going to be getting the RIMM4200 memory to go with it.

yeah...RIMM 4200 is awesome,
but i'd wait for the Abit board that supports it.
Asus is, well...:o

Leo:

Does the Asus come bundled with PC4200 as it was released in Asia? The reason I ask is that PC4200/32bit RDRAM is somewhat difficult to find in the US right now.

Doesn't look like it from the description. We're one step closer at least though right?

Besides, Asus boards have generally been known to be solid boards (case in point macci), just their PLL won't let them go above 156. Now with this issue resolved, I'd probably take this board over the next ABit i850 board barring any sort of serious issues.

A new board :), the P4T533 can go up to 200. That's why everyone's been waiting for it.

sweet :)
do you by chance know how high the Vcore and Vmem goes?

Leo

That I honestly don't know, I guess we'll see in a little over a week.

hehe...yeah,
i read a review of that board somewhere, but thats before the fsb fix.
so you couldn't really tell anything from it,
the guys hit the celeing (156mhz or whatever) without problems, but couldn't go farther...

who carez for the vcore and vmem, do the trick on your cpu and the rimms won't need that much voltage.

it'll rock anyway

If you want the bundle board check out http://www.gamepc.com they also sell 4200 separately.

That page isn't pulling up for me, just a notice about the domain being registered.

Mark One Computers already has the bundle in stock for $295.50 before shipping. Their RR is 8.87 so they seem like a legit outfit.

http://www.markonecomputers.com/

Atacom wants $335 before shipping if you like to buy from there. The RIMMs themselves pull up for $150+ so I think these are decent prices for now.

Sorry about that this should work typo on my part http://www.gamepc.com

Newegg still doesn't have the board or the RIMMs in stock yet, their current listed price though is $120 for the RAM and $190 for the board, free shipping for each. Looks like Newegg or Mark One for those living in California (no tax, IL) are the best places to get the board at this point.

take a look at the thread over @ born2oc under "P4T533 VRIMM mod"

sandra mem bandwith bench (http://www.skybed.be/born2oc/P4T533_168mhz_fsb.jpg) (he can bench at 170*4 now)

So FredPerry, do you know what P4 CPU speed was used for this benchie?

Jupiler

If I'm correct, he's using a 1.6a.

Thx Jupil :D

Excuse me for jumping the thread but ;) ..what would be the top three CPU speed choices for this mobo if $ isn't a factor and max speed/mem bandwidth is.
Thx

i don`t know anout u guys but to me this board is POS....
i`m using it right now...
and my2.26b whoch can do 180FSB ...
can`t do it on the P4T533...
max i can get it stable is at 155FSB with 4X mem multi...
even lowering to a 3X won`t get me any higher...
can get in to windows and do some sandra bench and that`s it...
can`t run 3D mark...
only at 155FSB with 4X...
i don`t think the chipset can handle the speed...
when u set it to 3X...
it`s actually udercloxking the ram...
but it dosen`t make any diff with 4X or 3X...

GOD.....:(

a vcore mode and a vdimm mod are around since 2 months for this board. made by OJI reported by Holicho. It does not help at all, because if you can run RIMM 4200 up to 180 Mhz, as you can with the P4T533, a volt mod does not help further. That is exactly is result in the Japanese forums.
