[Compare]SuperPi MOD 1.4/1.5XS Which is faster ? -> Blitz Formula + QX9650


I've tested a result of 32M at 5718MHz on LN2 , 8m28.672sec with SuperPi MOD 1.4

I test always by the version 1.4 because I think it is the same of 1.5XS,and I've started of testing Pi with 1.4 version since 2002. So I don't want to change the version.

But I've heard some one talked about the speed of SuperPi 1.4 is faster than 1.5 XS . And they can not really believe my result.

So , I've tested 4 results of 32M at 4.4/4.32GHz with 1.4 and 1.5XS version

Mobo ASUS Blitz Formula P35+ICH9R
CPU Intel QX9650 BOX L739A643
Cooling Thermalright Ultra 120
RAM TeamGroup DDR2-800 4-4-4-10 1G x2
HDD Seagate 7200.10 320GB IDE 7200rpm
VGA Canopus G32 GeForce2 MX400
PSU PC Power & Cooling TurboCool 1KW-SR

BIOS 1302
Setting of Memory = 4-4-4-4-1-25-3-3-2
400x11 2:3 4.4GHz Performance Level = 4 | 1.4 and 1.5 XS
and
480x9 4:5 4.32GHz Performance Level = 5 | 1.4 and 1.5 XS

So in total = 4 screens of 32M
Why I test by 400 and 480 FSB ?
It's two diffirent memory bandewich. I want to see the diffirence enter two way.

And all test is ran by 1 core (the 2nd Core of the QX9650 , In Windows = Core #1 not Core #0 or #2)

No Tweak in Windows , No Copy Waza . I don't like them !!!

Finally I was surprised !!!
Allbody think that 1.4 is faster !!!!!!!

But 1.5 XS is faster !!!!!
I don't know the reason , but it's really .
I have not cheat, of cause , No SetFSB , I boot @ 400 or 480FSB and test directly

So, I've a little regretted , Why I haven't test the 5718MHz LN2 with 1.5 XS ? May bee I can sub 8m28sec .... ? lol

That's within error margin (0.3s in 24 loops = 12.5ms/loop). Nothing is changed betwen v1.4 and 1.5 except XS branding in the window titling.

The standard is 1.5 and anyboby use 1.5; why not using it as well, making your times comparable with others under the same standard? :confused:

...euh , when the 1.5 XS is released , I think that i'm not the Team of XtremeSysteme. So I haven't started for use the 1.5 XS version.

OK OK , because it is a little more faster ... So I'll use 1.5XS
No I must have a great mobo DDR3 , and I will buy a new kit DDR3 .
Because of that I've 0 Liter of LN2 now , so I can't re-run the 5.7GHz + 32M

But I hope the next play , will be 5.8GHz+ because I will do the vCore MOD to have 1.95v vCore ... 5718MHz is ran by 1.872v with vDroop ... :D

In some cases there's no point in "fighting the system".
Everyone else uses 1.5XS.

it's known fact v1.4 is faster but 1.5 has anti-cheat protection so hence why 1.5 is the one to use :)
