Using PowerShot S3
ISO 80
Aperature 5.0
Exposure time 45 seconds
That was taken at 6:40 PM tonight. I don't get why canon didn't add long exposures like this stock. There isn't much more noise at 45 sec vs. 15
Subscribed :)
My shots, all done in night/deep evening

Whoa! What camera do you have? Even with my modified firmware, I can only top at 65 seconds exposure, or else hot pixels becomes a problem apparently. Since mine is a point and shoot SLR-like camera, the lense only goes to F8, so long exposures can be a problem, but luckily my firmware lets me drop ISO down to 10 :p:
all shots are made on SLR Nikon D50 + selfmade IR remote control and tripod, except moon shot which was made with 200mm lens+x2 convertor, handheld, iso800.

EOF, did you crop that moon pic or is it full frame??
I am getting the 70-300VR and I am curious how large the moon will be with full frame.

from my experience, 300mm isn't going to be super big. That's not to say you can't get a great shot, but its not going to be a huge difference over a 200mm lens. I use a Pentax ist DL, I know that has the 1.3 sensor size or w/e it is so it might be different for you guys

300mm witha 1.3 sensor will be 390mm equivalent whereas my d40x is a 1.5x sensor so it will be 450mm equivalent. I dont know how much those extra 60mm will do, but its something.
Lastly, the Canon 1.6x sensors will be 480mm.

That was done with 200mm F4 lens and x2 convertor
Effective Focal distance is 600mm (200x2x1.5)
Another moon by the same system:

The River could be a lot brighter and later I had a barge coming down. It is actually quite hard to capture a barge with the 8MM power light in front.

400mm, it's big, but not that sharp :)
may be you push the iso too high
