Team,
Boincstats shows that all 5 of our best days were in 2007 !
Can't we do better now ?

We should challenge ourselves (and maybe the other members of the XS DC community) to get those old 2007 dates off there !

Let's work on fixing this:

Best five days
Date Credit
2007-11-17 835,879
2007-11-11 748,150
2007-11-02 740,447
2007-12-18 720,576
2007-08-17 706,889

That bottom number is only 7% more than we've been averaging the last 5 days, surely we can squeeze another 7% out ! It's winter, turn up those overclocks a little ! LET'S GO FASTER !

well, now that I bought a 3rd quad...

just need to get my office done, and grab a decent psu and p35 board, and # 3 will be up on water, and I know it is good for 3.825 on 680i, so hopefully closer to 4ghz on P35.

Still looking at febuary though :(

The team has come a long way. Here are some stats to consider.

Daily points:

One year ago - 1,306,272
Yesterday - 4,913,399

Total members:

One year ago - 238
Today - 799

Who would like to become member #800?:) Find a friend and have him/her join the cause.

Daily production has definitely seen a boost in the last week, thanks to our newest members. So each person can make a difference.

Now that is some great news. At this pace we will have enough members returning work on a daily basis to take the lead.

OK, I've done my part !
I've resurrected a Pentium D 805 and it's up & running.
I can try to overclock it when I get lmsensors running in kubuntu. This particular chip had MAJOR (much more than the usual for a Pentium D) heat issues, but I lapped it flat yesterday before setting it up.

I think I'm now out of functioning power supplies and hard drives. I'll recheck the power supplies laying around but I think they're all junk. I'll check & see if the computer scrapyard I've bought some PCI video cards from is still in business, I could use another 2 or 3 cheapo power supplies & 2gb+ hard drives! I think I have everything else to get a Sempron 2800, Sempron 3100 and P4 2.5 online as well ! :D That would all be next weekend.

Now, 805 members.:) Don't be shy if you wish to join the effort. Doesn't matter whether you have only one low-powered computer or a lot of fast machines. We welcome any and all help.

we might have 805 members but how many are active?

Generally about 40% are returning results each day. That may not seem like much. But we are gradually approaching the 5 million/day mark. That's almost four times what we were doing a year ago.

Some people have powered down some of their machines because their electricity bills were getting too high. Others may have just lost interest. I can understand the personal financial aspect. But in the end, people have to motivate themselves.

The added benefit of joining is the camaraderie you will experience here, not to mention the generosity of the team members. And if you're really good, you may have the "pleasure" of talking to Dave on the phone.:D

I have several P4 HT and AMD single cores but I can not justify the electricity use for the amount of work they do when I already have 12 dual/quad core rigs running.

No, he doesn't look like that.:) But just make sure you have nothing else planned that day, if you decide to chat with him on the phone.

We've already gotten '08 onto our top 5 list today !

Our 2nd best day is only 5% further away !
We can do that much !

I don't have 12 dual/quad rigs but, I'm with you on the justification thing.

I'm thinking of pulling my Duron off. It seems like it's more of a waste than anything....even though I got a few more MHz out of it today:D (could probably get more but I have no voltage options in bios - tyan board).

Been playin' with a celeron 600MHz on an asus cuw-rm board....another waste of electricity....but I got it to over 80fsb (could probably get more but, not enough fsb/sdram ratio options).

On a positive note, I recently added my second quad....only part time though - nights and weekends. Uses a lotta' juice compared to the dedicated cruncher.

My motto has always been, run fewer but more powerful crunchers. I've converted most of my mini-farm to quad cores. I have one dual-core machine left. Will convert it to a quad core cruncher once the cheaper retail Yorkfields become available. The chief advantage of Yorkfield over Kentsfield is lower power consumption. So even though the resellers will likely jack up the prices on the new chips, the power savings will partly offset that.

Someone give this guy a good slap! :slap: I'll give you "pleasure"!:ROTF:

Something else to consider and keep an eye open for:
As some people move to the Yorkies we will see a lot of Q6600's sold cheap.
Just this am I saw a Q6600 G0 sold here for $200.00 shipped..
At that price you can do a $500.00 machine that will do 15K a day.

I'd wager you could interest plenty of us in one of those !
I expect by the time I get home at the end of this week I should have everything I'd need to put another quad on the grid... except for the quad !
You could just pass those best deals on Q6600s along on here for those of us that don't rate the For Sale forum here... ;)

Yes, good idea..and in ways that 100 post deal is outdated.
There are just so many that come to XS JUST for the FS section that they had to do something to slow down the potential thieves and scammers but it does hurt the good guys too.
Generally I would say your not missing much. That one today surprised me.
I need to make a script that emails me every time the word Q6600 is used in the FS section..
