What ever came of the stepped base blocks Nik was working with? I searched for that thread and it kinda ended without much fan-fare.

Actually doesn't look all that bad. But of course, I'll reserve harsh flaming until after the results come in.

well according to scott's post on stepped bases, it should yield better results then a bowed GTX.

The design of the block however is different. Tony says it uses grooves to spread the water out. The GT and GTX are micro pin matrixes. So i cant really comment on how well it will do.

But what confuses me is they made this block in regards to chilled water by spacing the barbs out to each corner. I havent seen a chilled h2o setup use acrylic because it can crack. Most prefer derlin. That middle part looks like its acrylic, unless its lexan.

Nice!
I like the three patch diamond pin cuts, glad to see something a little different. I bet it performs pretty well. It'll still have a higher pressure drop because of the one way flow across all those pins, but it's probably pretty good.

eek, i dislike acrylic. I hope it is polycarbonate or something else crack and UV resistant.

Good job, except that I wouldn't want it because of all the acrylic.

Whats up with the O-ring on the left bard? In the pic it does not look like it is sealing up very well.

One more thing... is it just me or is the threads for the barbs way huge?

Naa, I think it's just you....

I think there just smaller barbs, but it could be a different thread type.

looks like 3/8" BSP threads with 3/8" OD barbs for 3/8" ID tubing

personally, I don't think its the best looking block

This block does indeed look to have some very decent potential. Waiting for numbers. :yepp:

I agree with IanY though, I'd prefer a Delrin top.

IanY, Love the sig

Looks decent :) I like the clear top too, as long as it doesn't crack.

IanY, very direct your sig.... lolz...

Justin, for lack of more pics, the o-rings looks just right, the barbs must not have the captured o ring design for it to show...

I like the three patch diamond pin cuts, glad to see something a little different.

First thought was, 'I bet Martin will like that triple cut design'. If you're off to the mill take a chunk of delrin with you. Hate the plexi.

Great looking block, the spacing between the barbs will make fitting ¾ OD tubing a lot easier.

But that aside the million dollar question is how well it performs.

Martim210 needs to get his hands on one

The threads look huge because the holes are bored huge. Look close, you can see a brass reducer in the hole with a barb screwed into the reducer.

Block looks ok, I guess.
