its been a while since ive cared about what waterblock i should get so i was wondering if i should upgrade from my direct pelt cooling leufken waterblock...

hows the new spir@l look? http://dtekcustoms.safeshopper.com/18/31.htm?269

or what about the TC-4 Rev 2? http://dtekcustoms.safeshopper.com/18/125.htm?269

both those look a bit better than a maze.. but might be a little tougher to use with a pelt

a dude over at oc'rs.com forums dropped his load temp 12c w/ the spiral and a dtek rad. he had the swifty prebuilt h2o case :)

i'd say the spiral's pretty good ;)

In my testing, the Spir@l worked good, but not as good as the Maze2 or 3. As for that TC-4...i just don't know. Too many blocks out to test hehe.

PS - Was going to sample the GeminiCool spiral block, but it seems to be rated for 3/8"? Does it really constrict a 1/2" system?

From what I hear the Gemini blocks are very restrictive...but still work quite well.

And man, I can't believe that your Maze2 does better than the Spir@l. From what I've been reading....the Maze2 is not all that good :D

There is a review on OCrs.com that shows the Gemini's putting a hurtin' on the Maze2.

The problem with my peltier chiller set up is that my radiators and waterblocks are on seperate water loops. What this means, is that the faster the water flows in my cold water loop, the better the waterblocks perform. So the Gemini restricting the flow may have negative results for me.

In a normal water cooling system with the radiator on the same loop as the waterblock, slowing the waterflow down may actually have added benefit, since the radiator will now be working more efficiently. It might make the Gemini waterblock seem like it has an unfair advantage. Or maybe not hehe.

I guess the only way for me to know is to throw one in to my system and comparing it to the other block's I've tested. Water cooling systems can differ so much, a block that works better for one may not work the same for another I guess.

i would think the spir@l would be way better than the maze3..

Its only a 3/8" channel

that's the gemini spiral, not the D-Tek Spir@l......the dtek one should flow alot more ;)

Yeah, the Dtek Spir@l is designed for 1/2" systems. Its a great block. I still use mine, but the Maze2 and the Maze3 beat it by a few degrees, so now the Maze3 is in my main system.

I'm gonna buy the Gemini Spiral and the MCW462-UH within a few weeks so I can compare those as well. No way one knowing what waterblock works best for me without trying them all I guess.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE Z4 WATER BLOCKS (https://www.overclockershideout.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=o&Category_Code=WB) Silver plated CNC plus 1/2 in anodized fittings. G-force 4600 block also.

looks good to me...is the channel inside the block true 1/2" though? or just the fittings?

The Z4 is new since when? I know people who have used it with not very good results at all.

Hi Guys:)

I have been a Z-4 user for quite some time now...first for a pelt chiller..and since I built my phase change unit I'm using it on my cpu..along with one of the GF4 blocks on my vid card. Excellent craftsmanship and better temps than my first Leufken and subsequent MCW372.

It's a different revision now though. The only real problem I had was the fact that the barbs nicked so easily, allowing water to leak.

My temps weren't all that bad considering 2.3VCore and they've fixed the major flaw in the design, which was the fact that the intake barb was about as wide as three of the water channels.

so now, is z4 true 1/2"?
if i have 1/2" pump, rad and everything, will it obstruct the flow?
