Well, in addition to the usual New Years festivities, Southwestern Lower Michigan, received a pretty healthy dose of the white stuff. It started snowing about 8pm New Years eve and didn't really stop snowing (occasional relief of an hour or so with no snow) until this morning about 9am.
As the system continued to dump on us..the wind speeds increased and at times yesterday (Jan 1) visibility was down to a couple hundred feet.

These shots are after I was done cleaning up on New Years morning:

I like it when the snow sticks to the trees:

These 2 I snapped arriving home last night about midnight:

Now... this morning I was greeted with this:

The drift on this roof is over 18" high and the one on the ground is almost 30":

After battling for about an hour (also helped out the Neighbors) everything is clean, except the machine :D :

Yeah we got slaughtered too, I put a new plow motor on my old mans super duty truck and boy are we happy we did. I shoveled the roof on my rentals and I still have to do the one I'm living in.

Misery loves company so I'm good company for you there Ryder. On a positive note, I hope some of that snow stays in MI till spring break. I was planning on taking my son to northern MI (Boyne) for the week and teach him to snowboard.

Yep. Very cold and windy. Although I think we only got 6" or so here in NW Ohio, maybe less.

Got about 10" here in the Cleveland, Ohio area.

Shoveled 6" last night off my driveway so I could get to my car in the morning for work, and was greeted by another 4" when I woke up.

Arghhh....Team America gets more snow! Georgie Bush says so N00b!..... ;)
In all seriousness, there are many places in Canada that get tons of snow....sure, but I'm know we've got those places here too. This is not a contest. However, if you want to make it one, I bet you guys get more snow there than where I live. Congrats. You are teh Winner!

Hehe. Just kidding

We got 6 inches here the other day, but it's raining now and it's supposed to hit 58 degrees on tuesday. Kinda sucks...I wish it would snow more.

Cool pictures. I don't get snow hear sadly. I remember a few years back at big bear california we had a good blizzard. Couldn't get to our cabin with the cars so we had to walk about a couple hundred feet from the main road.

Same thing here, when i was younger, in the late 80's/ early 90's we'd get at least 30-40 in of snow in the winter, and it would STAY. These days we get at most 6 in at a time followed by rain(which either melts it or just makes it a mess).

Global warming at work. :shakes:
