It can improve some on ddr2. I was at 4-4-4-12 with auto adv timings and I think around 570mhz or whatever 4:5 gives at 452fsb. Nothing special really.
Making the switch to ddr3 now, problem is finding the right board that can hang with this cpu at this point and doesnt coldboot. I hate that. lol.
DDR3 is a nice boost. Clock for clock the fully optimized ddr3 rig pulls about 3000 points more in AM3 then the fsb/mem settings run for 340k :D
At 5800mhz with card on air, the Am3 cpu score on p5k3 dlx/1800c7's was 33.5k+. Though the final subscores seem to vary alot when both card and cpu are pushed.

Haven't got it nailed down yet with this setup. I used 3.0 for 340k. 4.9(good 01 setting) works good too, higher than that seems to get worse but margin of error on this test is sometimes greater.

@Zeus: As Vince mentioned nice LoD settings for AM3 are 3.0 and 4.9 ... 4.9 seems to also help a lot in Nature of 3D 01, and 3.0 in Car Chase Low.

That's funny :ROTF: - in my favorite game (2001) always used Lod 4.8 with Nvidias, almost same as you :yepp:

LOD - Level of Detail tweak you can use through Rivatuner to reduce level of detail in a benchmark hence increase fps (BUT it doesn't always help.....makes it worse too occasionally heh)

lod 3.9/4.9 all scored better in am3 for me than zero

make sure you restart the PC for these runs and also run it multiple times too

ddr3 boost the scores for sure :).....

i always forget to turn off maxmem for 3D runs and take a slight beating on scores including AM3 ;)
