I still am trying to get this G11 UV Blue ratio thing straight in my head.

So far, I think I have used about 1/2 a gallon, or 64 fl oz of distilled water in my loop. After adding in the section that will have the blocks connected too, I expect to be close to using 3/4 of a galon, or 96 fl oz of distilled water in my loop. (I have long tubing involved so most will not use this much water.)

The G11's instructions recomends a mix of 1:9 with distilled water.
One ninth of 64 is 7.111111 fl oz.
Does that mean that 1/2 a gallon of distilled water takes almost two full bottles of G11? That doesn't seem correct?

The entire bottle of G11 is only 4 fl oz.
I guess a 4 oz bottle, makes about 40 oz of fluid. That would be A 10% ratio.

My 1/2 a gallon is 64 fl oz, so I guess I can go for the full bottle or more 'by the book' if I wish, and still not exceed the recomended amount?

I do have two bottles of the stuff, but that just seemes like way too much die to add into my loop?

I am aware that I will take a small performance hit, with every drop I add, so I don't want to go too crazy.

Being that is is my first water loop, and I have the window in the PC and all, I do want color in the loop this time. Mabey next round I will run distilled only and swap to colored tubing or something and go for pure performance? I do want a decent blue water this time around.

I'm ready to see some color now...

I started slow, and proved that 1/4 of 1 bottle of G11, in 1/2 a gallon of distilled is NOT enouigh. ;)

The color did change, but it is still so light you might as well run straight distilled. You had to mostly imagine it.

Going to a half a bottle of G11 for color reevaluation!!

I believe the PT Nuke worked fine, and will hold at 1 drop status. :)

Half a bottle report: Looks better. Easy to tell it's colored. Small amount of foam, but I hear it is normal for a while...

Everything is looking pretty darn good. I am holding here pending advice.

Do most of you G11 guys go for the full bottle or more, if you have a rather large loop like mine?

NOTE: Picture is not showing the G11, just the loop for size referance.

Two short loops used one bottle at 1:9.

I really like the light colour.

Thanks for the reply Jedda,

So if I end up with 3/4 of a gallon in my loop, going over 1 bottle of G11 isn't anything to get too excited about.

Do you have any idea if in your two small loops, what % of a gallon you might hae used between the two of them?

I mixed the bottle into a total of 40 fluid ounces. No reservoirs in the loops, so only PA120.3, tube, pump and blocks to fill.
I added two to three drops of Nuke per loop too.
Wouldn't feel too stressed if the percentage varied between 30-60 fluid ounces. I mixed it up in 10 oz lots and found little colour or viscosity change when adding the G11 last. Once some of the correct amount had gone in it didn't look different as the remainder was poured in.

Thanks... I am going to up mine then from a half, to at least 1 full bottle.

I want it darker still... ;)

I use 3 bottles of Petra's Pentosin G12 Coolant Additive ("Red" - UV Reactive) to 1 gallon of water

FYI - I took er up to 1 full 4oz bottle of G11, and a second drop of PT Nuke:

Looking better!! :p:

Note - These are not UV lights. I have lot's in my TJ09 case though!! ;)

I used only 5% G11 and about 20 drops of this PT dye, it works really well and that way I don't foul up the specific heat and viscosity of the distilled too much.

Heres what mines looks like using a 1:9 ratio. I kinda like your color more though.
