The only hsf i have is a volcano 7+ :(. Im wondering if it would be overkill to put on my 9700 pro? Also would the weight be too much? I have everything I need to mount it, but since i have an AIW, I have to wait to get a dremel to machine the block so it doesnt interfere with the TV tuner :(, so i have some time to get a different heatsink if need be :D ,

The volcano 7s are very big, i wouldnt use epoxy for somehting that big are you going to make custom clips for it to hold on?

epoxy is actually VERY strong, so i wouldn't worry about that.

anyway, a V7+ should do a great job, but you could probably pick up a 1U HSF and it would preform about the same without sacraficing so many PCI slots.

you could always rig up some sort of support for the card.

i have an idea on how to add support but its hard to explain, so now im just waitin on a dremel so i can make it fit :D

hehe i dont have any legos , but what im thinkin is to add thread guides to the side of the fan, then get threaded studs, put a rubber feet on them, then its adjustable, ie the studs screw into guide which is attached to the fan (or the hs, dunno yet), the rubber feet touch the bottom of the case and it supports it...or somethin like that

i was thinking more along the lines of supporting the card from the top right corner. most cards have a hole there where you could attach some sort of string/ziptie/cable and then tie that off on a drive cage or something else above the AGP slot.
